Title of the course : Human Computer Interaction (HCI)

1. Scope and Objective of the Course:

This course prepares students to search, integrate, and apply the human-computer
interaction. The course will discuss approaches to evaluate the human-computer
interface implementing different approaches and technologies of evaluation, and
afterwards to create interaction improvement recommendations. To Understanding
the Well-designed graphical user interfaces and variety of platforms, both traditional
and Web-based.

Objective of the course:

1. Well-designed graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for business systems can

greatly increase user productivity, but designing them can be difficult and time
consuming. This subject walks developers through the basics of good interface
design, using real-world examples from systems that are proven successes.
2. This subject Written especially for developers who may be designing user
interfaces for the first time, but also extremely useful for any developer
involved in GUI or Web site design.
3. Revised to reflect the profound enhancements in interface design, specifically
how Web page design has revolutionized interface design.
4. New information covers a variety of platforms, both traditional and Web-
based.

2. Textbooks:

TB1: The essential guide to user interface design, Wilbert O Galitz, Wiley
DreamaTech.
TB2:Ben Shneiderman, ‘Designing The User Interface’, Pearson Education, 2001.

4. Expected outcome of the Course:

Outcomes:
After completing this course, students will be able to:
1. Describe the contributions human factors and technical constraints make to
human computer interaction.
2. Describe the role of current HCI theory in the design of software.
3. Apply HCI techniques and methods to the design of software.
4. Assess the usability of software tools.
