(1) Preferred (strong) stud location is closest to beam ends in each corrugation with studs.
(2) Table assumes that the first stud will be located in the weak location, the second in the strong location, and the third in the weak location. ¾” studs require a
minimum spacing of 3” o.c. in any direction. All studs through B-Lok are in the weak location.
(3) wr = average width of rib greater than or equal to 2". wr is greater than or equal to 2" + 3D studs across the corrugation.
(4) hr = height of rib less than or equal to 3".
(5) Density = 145 PCF conforms to ASTM C33, 115 PCF conforms to ASTM C330.
(6) Studs conform to ANSI / AWS D1.1 with Fu = 65 ksi.
(7) Studs of lesser diameters are allowed and shear values are reduced.
(8) When deck is parallel to the beam, the minimum center-to-center spacing of studs installed along the beam length is 6 diameters. When wr is wide enough, we
suggest that studs be staggered either side of the corrugation. When studs are side-by-side, the minimum transverse spacing is 4 diameters.
(9) The maximum center-to-center spacing of studs shall not exceed 8x the total slab thickness nor 36 in.
