Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Ehlert
studied Bioengineering at the University of Toledo
before moving to Bonn, Germany where he studied
international leadership and European Policy. In
2003 he returned to Cleveland for medical school
and earned his MD from Case Western Reserve
University. A Dean’s Scholar and member of the
Alpha Omega Alpha honors society, he has been
active in health care reform
and public health with the American Medical Student Association (AMSA),
both locally and nationally. As chapter president he a rally on healthcare
reform at the Vice Presidential Debates in 2004. This event garnered
national press. He served on AMSA’s Board of Trustees representing the
Ohio and Michigan chapters before being elected National Vice President
in 2006. During his tenure as VP he spearheaded initiatives on leadership All speakers who came today to help our attendees in their goal toward

This personal statement workshop helps students understand
―Why‖ the personal statement is a part of the admissions proc-
ess. A Kaplan representative will help students brainstorm to
start the process, focus the student’s ideas into themes and
discuss editing and writing.
