INTRODUCTION

With the change in the impetus of India’s political system and the way it functions, it
demands for a paradigm shift and total new and fresh outlook towards the system.
Indian Youth in this scenario befits the criteria, yet the participation is abysmal. This
lameness of Politics to attract them and the over aggressive nature of fast growing
industries and corporate to lure the youth was, has been and will be an issue of serious
concern. The education system plays a very significant role in awakening and stirring
youth into politics.

Responsibilities and task of youth need an in depth evaluation and understanding of

the actual views of youth, economic thinkers, youth organizations as well as young
leaders regarding Politics. Substantial work has been done on this, yet the study of a mix
of the experience (existing politicians) and zeal (youth) has its openings for a new study.

OBJECTIVES

Our study in a way throws light upon the issue that was left in dark and also
simultaneously concentrates on various other pertinent issues. They are:

• Corruption being very rampant in the society, there is a dire need for political
restructuring. This gives us the scope of study to work on building up the knowledge
body for establishing the need of youth as catalysts in functioning of the society.

• To add up points and findings to previous researchers.

• To understand the peoples perspectives on youth in politics.

• To study the level of participation of youth in politics.

• The understand various expectations of public from politicians.

• To infer various ratiocinations from the views that people hold regarding future of
Indian Politics.

Summary of the conclusions:

After a thorough study of the data collected from different samples, many conclusions were
derived. Politics was given a diversified definition but was crowded with negative
connotations. Even though the role of youth is considered significant for bright future
politics, there were still a set of oppositions. People’s expectations from the politicians and
political party are high and ideal. All the major ideologies of a political system were
supported. The future of Indian political system is a conundrum considering the mixed
feelings of the common Indians but was voiced out with a hope for improvement.

Methods:

We had used Interviews (personal, telephonic and on line) as the main method to acquire
the data.

Conclusion

EXPERIENCES WHILE CONDUCTING FIELDWORK:

This topic being a very appealing for all class of people, interviewing was a very learning,
insightful as well as exciting experience. We came across different sections of public ranging
from a coffee vendor, auto driver to lawyer and politician. The maximum participation was
of course from youth. In some instances interviewees were not able to share their views
and showed less participation. The interview with professors and lawyers were very
educative and insightful. The youth through their responses contradicted in some instances.
