Hi, this is iquabal ahamad i have given writtten test of BEL for the post of probationary engineer
2010.
My branch is (EC) so I am giving here some ideas about (ec) paper actually paper of the PE 2010
was very simple and you can score very well in this paper.
This paper contains 150 objective type questions in which 30 questions are of apptitude and 120
questions are of your concerning branch.
TOPICS FOR APPTITUDE ARE:

3. one word substitution.
4. sentence completion.
• questions on number series.
• questions on set theory.
• logical reasoning.
• data interpretation.
TOPICS FOR TECHNICAL SECTION

• analog electronics.
• network theory.
• measurement.
In all these topics first three topics cover almost 70% questions of your technical part.

Hello friends,

I have attended the test 4 PE(probationary officers) by BEL on 4th July,2010 in Delhi.

The written test has quantitative apti+reasoning+DI+english in the first 30questions and
technical of your respective domain in the last 120 questions. Making a total of 150 questions
and there were no different sections in the test. It was altogether a single paper comprising of
the above mentioned type o' questions.

Let me tell you about the technical part first. It was a simple paper unlike the Gate level or the
Drdo test which requires a deep knowledge of concepts in many questions. But you have a very
good grip on your technical part as almost all the subjects are covered in it & any minute thing
can be asked.
Questions:

Q1.no. o' gates 12 in

a, SSI b,MSI, c,LSI d, none

Q2.prf given then find max. unambiguous range?

 Q3.min. RAM requirement in windows 98?

Q4.efficiency of class A,B, C amp.?

Q5. diff b/w motorola and intel micropros.?

Q6. to find radiation resistance( i dont remember the data)?

Q7. to find the freq. in resonance R,X(inductance) given?

These are just an idea for your preparation have a good knowledge of your subject.

Aptitude has big passage with 4-5 Q.s, a DI with 10 Q.s, 3 synonyms, 3 fill in the blanks based
question(synonyms type question) series based Questions were very tricky (code the to be
found) a simple puzzle with 5 questions

Out of 150 questions i did 137 and waiting for the result, hope this informations been
informative to you.

q6-10: fill in the blannks n one world subtitute....simple
q11-20: DI ques... like data is given u hav to find ques basd on that..... little bit tough....
q21-30: LR.... easiest......
q31-150:tech....

25-35 questions from microwave,(some vr really difficult....)

10-15 questions from electrical sciencs,circuits n all dat......
5-10 ques 4rm microprocessor....(simple)
2-3 ques 4rm op-amp.....(simple)
5-7 ques 4rm analog....(difficult)
2-3 ques 4rm consumer electr (tv).....(medium)
5-10 ques 4rm control engg....(difficult)
10-20 general elctronics (simple)

overall papers consisted of numericals also n was quite difficult as compared to other Psu papers
like NTPC,ONGC etc.... so prepare well!!!
