People  with  diabetes  have  to  deal  
with  a  big  amount  of  non-­‐recyclable  
medical  trash.  Test  strips,  pump  set  
change,  CGM  sensor  switch,  
discarded  pen  needles  and  syringes  
are  a  daily  issue  of  all  diabe5cs,  
making  their  needs  very  nocive  to  
the  environment.  
The  tubing-­‐free  insulin  pumps  are  
very    user  friendly  but  also  
expensive  and  unfriendly  to  the  
environment  because  of  the  to  
discard  the  whole  wearable  unit,  
with  all  the  plas5c  and  mechanism  
in  it.  
The  Duo  Pod  is  a  minimum  waste  device  that  combines  a  CGM  and  a  insulin  
pump,  divided  in  two  parts  :    
à A  permanent  one  that  has  all  the  electronic  parts  of  the  meter  and  pump  
as  well  as  the  mechanism  to  press  the  insulin  container  in  the  
discardable    part.  
à A  discardable  part  that  only  contains  the  insulin  container,  CGM  sensor  
switch  and  the  pumps  and  CGMs  canulas.
