Dominica Update

We have had a lot of rain lately. The
weather report usually calls for 30%
regardless of sun or clouds. We had a week
recently where we didn’t see the sun for 5
days. It is even raining as I write this
Update. For someone who was called
“Flumin’ the Water Rat” as a little boy, I
am in my element. However, C ONTINUED ON THE BACK
While we have had some showers o f
adversity, there are many showers of
blessings. I gave a ride to a young mother,
Carmen, and her one month old baby the
other day. There were several others on the
bus, and I had handed them each a tract.
Again, it was raining cats and dogs and the
riders were very thankful for the lift.

Praise
 THE LORD HAS INCREASED OUR ATTENDANCE SOME
IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS. PRAY AS WE SEEK TO
MINISTER TO THE SPIRITUAL NEEDS OF EACH ONE.
 WE ALSO REJOICE IN THOSE MEMBERS WHO REMAIN
FAITHFUL AND JOYFULLY GROWING IN THE LORD.
PRAY FOR OTHER MEMBERS AND REGULAR ATTENDERS
WHO NEED TO PUT THEIR EYES BACK ON THE LORD.
 PRAISE THE LORD FOR FAITHFUL CO-WORKERS
AXEL AND NICKY AUGUISTE AND THEIR LITTLE
BLESSING, JEDIDAH. THEY ARE A TREMENDOUS HELP
TO US IN THE MINISTRY.
 GUERY AND VERNIE ARE REJOICING IN THE LORD
BLESSING VERNIE WITH A SAFE DELIVERY OF A
HEALTHY BABY BOY, CHRISTON.
Prayer
 PRAYESPECIALLY FOR RONALD GEORGES. HE HAS
NOT ATTENDED SERVICES FOR A LONG TIME AND IS
STRUGGLING SPIRITUALLY. PEASE PRAY!
 PRAY FOR AN UNMARRIED COUPLE, ADDISON AND
DIANA. AXEL RECENTLY LED THEM TO THE LORD
AND IS SEEKING TO DISCIPLE THEM.
 PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF CARMEN WHO
RECENTLY SHOWED INTEREST IN THE GOSPEL.
 PRAY ALSO FOR LENUS AND HIS FAMILY. HE
REQUESTED I START A BIBLE STUDY WITH THEM
AND HE WANTS TO GET MARRIED AND FOLLOW THE
LORD. PRAY ALSO FOR DENUS, HIS SON.
When It Rains…
we have had some difficulties raining down
on us as well. When we first arrived, our
bus, (van to most of
you), was not
running due to an
alternator problem.
I fixed it with used
parts and just the
other day it went
out again. I have now fixed it with new
parts as a new one is not available on the
island. We have had two used tires blow on
us, one stabilizer bar bracket come apart
twice, we bumped the oil pan on the way to
town losing a quart and a half of oil by the
time we got home and one of the back
brakes had a problem locking and then the
other one completely fell apart. I have had
to cancel two scheduled Bible studies,
Youth Meeting, and one Sunday evening
service as well as not being available to
transport the special needs students to
school for several days. As I said, “When it
rains…” The bus is on the road again but
is in need of some more attention. Pray
that the Lord will keep His hand on it as it
is in much demand for the ministry. Any
diesel mechanics need a vacation?
Showers of Blessings…
As I neared my home in Crayfish River I
asked Carmen how far she was going. She
said “Senecou.” Senecou is at the southern
end of the Carib Territory, and I live near
the northern end. There was a bus behind
me so as I slowed to turn off on my road I
tried to stop the bus to give Carmen and
her baby a ride. The bus zoomed right by so
I told her I would take her on home. As we

continued down the road she asked me if I
was a Christian. I said I was and asked her if
she was. She did not hesitate to tell me she
was not a Christian. I asked her if she knew
what a Christian was and she said “You have
to give your life to Christ”. I said that is true
and spent the rest of the 10 min. ride sharing
with her the Gospel. She was so interested I
asked her if she would like my wife and me to
have a Bible study with her sometime. She
said she would like that so I got her contact
infor mation. We have not scheduled a
meeting with her yet due to constant
problems with the bus but trust the Lord this
coming week will provide an opportunity to
share the Gospel with her again. Please pray
for the Lord to prepare Carmen’s heart to
believe on Him for her salvation from sin.
The Lord gives me many opportunities to
share the Gospel as I give rides to folks. Just
yesterday I shared the Gospel with a
drunkard I picked up on my way to town. I
had a blessed conversation with a Christian
lady on that same trip as well. They all do
not show the same interest, but the Lord is
able to take that little seed and cause it to
spring up into everlasting life.
Thank you for your prayer and financial
support that enables us to labor with the
Lord to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ
with the dear folks here in Dominica.
