PROUD GENERATION

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

Honorable all teachers, preachers, Ustadzah, and the jury of Festival Anak Sholeh
Indonesia (FASI). Respectable all invitees. And unforgetable all friends, participants of Festival
Anak Sholeh Indonesia (FASI), which I love.
All praises be to Allah subhanahu wata’ala. Because of His mercies, we can get together
and meet together in a healthy state. Amin ya rabbal alamin. Sholawat and salam be to our
prophet Muhammad SAW. Because of his guidance, we become true moslems.
On this wonderful occasion I want to deliver a speech entitled "Proud Generations".
The honorable jury and the audiences,
We certainly see that our country currently many problems. Every child is the hope of the
nation. But, bad environment and religious knowledge deficiency alleviate them to be worse
generation.
Bad environment, television, and internet will poison the generation of Indonesia with
deviant behaviors. Children are accustomed to see people fighting, doing violation, and drinking
alcoholic on TV. They probably will imitate such actions.
Lack of religious knowledge makes the child unable to differentiate between good and
evil. They will be easily seduced by Satan. Allah says:

                 
“By Allah, We sent our messengers to the people of the nations before you, but the devil
makes people thought that their bad deeds are good deeds, then the devil lead them in that day
and for them a painful punishment.” (Surah An-Nahl: 63)
Those bad characteristics destroy our future.
The honorable jury and the audiences,
The only key to create a proud generation, future generation of the country, is following
the prophet Muhammad SAW’s guidance. Our prophet Muhammad is uswatun hasanah, the
good paragon for all human being. Prophet Muhammad’s always improve and keep the quality
of his deeds. His religious service, characteristics, attitude, and behaviors are high grade.
Therefore, Allah stated:
                  

“In fact there has been a good paragon in the Prophet’s self which is good for you, who expect
Allah’s (blessing) and the end and who call on Allah very much (QS. Al Ahzab [33] : 21).
The above statement will also answer the question why moslems cannot lead as the
caliphate in the earth. Moslems are not familiar with word “achievement” and “quality”. Being
colonialized by other countries for centuries make us unconfident to compete with others. This
bad experience makes us not feel guilty if we do not succeed things. We always pray, but many
of us do not improve the quality of our deeds.
In fact, Prophet Muhammad always motivated his followers to get achievement and
improve their quality. Since the beginning of Islam, Prophet Muhammad always affirms all
moslems to achieve their success in the world and hereafter.
The honorable jury and the audiences,
Therefore, let’s be a quality moslems, who have excellent potentials. Allah stated that:

             

“You all are the best group, born to order human to goodness, prevent from the badness, and
believe in Allah...” (QS. Ali Imran [3] : 110).
Let us save the generation of Indonesia by encouraging them to improve their quality, so
that they will be the leader, khalifah fil ardl. Let’s pray to Allah to save Indonesian young
generations so they can be good successors of the nation. May they be a rabbany generation,
generation who are blessed by Allah. Amin ya rabbal alamin.
