2. Powerpoint - Categorization and Flow of Data 2
3. When you enter the Simulation of Resources Application first the Administration screen comes up.

In order to be able to execute the simulation of resources you have to transfer the data, that was extracted from the
operational system to basic InfoCubes before, in transactional simulation InfoCubes first. Therefore several
planning sequences were placed on the administration screen.
To transfer extracted CO-PA plan data for revenue simulation open the box "Transfer Data for Revenue
Simulation".
4. You can execute the planning function by clicking the button "Transfer Data".
To get information what's happening when you press that button, open the "Explanation" box.

For example during the transfer for the revenue simulation an ABC-classification of products is added according to
their planned revenues.
5. After executing the transfer planning function for revenue simulation proceed the same with all other transfer
planning functions (for material requirement Simulation etc.).
When you have transferred data for all sections of simulation you can start with the revenue simulation. Therefore
click the "Sales Prices and Quantities"-button within the navigation bar.
6. Click on "paneClassDC".
7. Click on "paneClassDC".
8. For the entry of simulation sales prices and quantities two different views were implemented. One is customer
focused (all products of a selected customer) the other one is product focused (all customers of a selected
product).
Please open the box "Customer Focused Entry of Prices".
9. Now you have two different possibilities to enter customer focused sales prices. Either you enter absolute values
for the prices or you derive the prices from CO-PA plan prices by using delta percentages.
Please open the box "Simulation prices via Delta Percentages".
10. Open the planning layout for the entry of delta percentages by opening the box "Entry of Delta Percentages".

Open the box "Calculation of Simulation Prices and Revenues" as well.

11. Now you can enter the delta percentages for all products of the selected customer, plant, product category and
version in the planning layout.
After entering delta percentages, calculate simulation sales prices by clicking the button "Calculate Prices and
Revenues".
12. Please notice: Simulation sales prices have been calculated.
Please close the "Customer Focused Entry of Prices" box.
13. In order to be able to calculate simulation sales revenues besides the sales prices sales quantities are needed.
Open the "Customer Focused Entry of Qunatities" box.
14. Again you have the possibility to enter sales quantities directly as absolute values or to use delta percentages
that refer to planned sales quantities.
Please open the "Direct Entry of Simulation Sales Quantities" box.
15. Now please open the planning layout by opening the "Entry of Simulation Sales Quantities" box. Please open
the "Calculation of Delta Percentages and Revenues" box as well.
16. Now you can enter sales quantities for all products of the selected customer, plant, product category (A, B, C)
and version.
When you have entered all sales quantities, execute the planning function "Calculate Percentages and Revenues"
that calculates the resulting delta percentages of the sales quantities according to planned sales quantities and
simulation sales quantities and the simulation sales revenues.
17. Please notice the entered simulation quantities and calculated delta percentages.
After that scroll down the page.
18. In order to see the resulting sales revenues open the "Revenue of selected customer" box.
19. Please notice the resulting sales revenues for the selected customer that were calculated based on the
simulation sales prices and sales quantities.
After that scroll up the page.
20. After you have done the sales revenue simulation for all relevant customers and products you can proceed with
the production quantity simulation.

Annotation: When you haven't entered simulation values for all products and customers (e.g. because you have
focused only on A products) you can execute the "Calculation of all Values for the whole Version" with delta
percentages as basis. Product-customer combinations that where not touched by you will be calculated with 0-
delta percentages for simulation prices and qunatities which means the plan values of CO-PA are used for the
simlation.
Therefore navigate to the relevant screen by clicking the "Scrap Rates of Finished Goods" navigation button
within the navigation bar.
21. Click on "paneClassDC".
22. Click on "paneClassDC".
23. Within that page you can enter scrap rates for all finished goods of a selected category of products (A, B, C),
plant and version. After that the resulting production qunatities are clalculated by using the simulation sales
quantities and those scrap rates.
Please open the planning layout by opening the "Scrap Rate Entry" box.
24. You can directly enter scrap rates for all products of the selected plant and catategory of products.

can use delta percentages again.
Please open the "Entry of Delta Percentages of Purchase Prices of Materials" box.
34. Now please open the planning layout by opening the marked box.
35. You can enter the delta percentages in the layout directly. Delta percentages of the first simulation year refer to
the purchase price from the material master, delta percentages of the following simulation years refer to the
previous year prices.

You can also use a planning function for data entry support first.
Please open the "Data Entry Support for Delta Percentages" box.
36. Here you can enter delta percentages for each simulation year.
37. When you have entered the data entry support values you can copy them into the planning layout above.

utilization is only a data entry support. You can also enter rates of capacity utilization in planning layout directly.
Here we use the data entry support. Execute the "Copy Standard Rate of Capacity Utilization" in order to copy the
standard rate into the planning layout.
57. Please notice the result of the data entry support. Again you can change the proposal values afterwards
manually.

Annotation: The rates of capacity utilization can be used to simulate the result of a two- or three-shift-production
and the different necessity of maintenance of the machines.
58. Please notice the manually changed rates of capacity utilization and the entered values for machine capacity for
the beginning of the first year of simulation in the planning layout.

After that you can execute the "Calculate Machine Requirements" planning function. Based on the simulated
production quantities and information from the routings, required machine hours are calculated. Furthermore
required machine capacities (i.e. numbers of machines) and the resulting capacity load utilizations are calculated
based on the required machine hours, the days of production per year and the entered (target) rates of capacity
utilization. At the end the additional machine requirements are calculated by using the machine requirements of a
simulation year and the machine capacity of the previous year.

Please notice the results of those calculations in the planning layout as well.
59. Now please navigate to the simulation of resulting machine costs by clicking the marked tab strip entry.

expenses are simulated. We'll have a look at the machine operators as an example.
In order to enter the required parameters please open the marked boxes.
70. After entering man-hours per year by plant and wage rates for machine operators by year and plant you
calculate both of the marked planning functions.

The first one calculates the required man-hours for machine operators by using the simulated production
quantities, information from the routings. Based on the required man-hours and teh man-hours per year required
headcounts are calulated. By comparing required headcounts of two following years additionlly required
headcounts are caluclated.

The second planning function calculates personnel expenses for machine operators by using simulated
headcounts and entered wage rates.

Results of both planning functions you can see by opening the marked planning layouts.
71. Please notice the resulting staffing requirements in the planning layout.
After that please navigate to the simulation result overview by clicking the "Overview Simulation Results"
