Engineering Kinetics (Pvt) Limited is one of the major players in mechanical construction
industry. With over 28 years of history EKL is currently operating in Sudan and UAE with its
base office in Lahore, Pakistan. I am currently focusing on the activities as part of my job
responsibilities:
Responsibilities 1. Review of the existing Human Resource Policies and definition of Standard Operating
& Achievements Procedures and systems.
2. Implementation of scientific and objectives based performance appraisal system
3. Benchmarking of existing remuneration & reward system based on market criteria.
4. Effective Human Resource Planning and recruitment function to fulfill the immediate
and short term requirements of various domestic and overseas projects.
5. Human resource development function to cater to employees’ needs in areas of soft
skills, project management and IT skills.
6. Formation of committees to incorporate organizational wisdom and to generate
ownership of various HR initiatives.
7. General Administration in addition to HR Admin.
Responsibilities 1. Implemented and got approved from the Government of the Punjab, PEF Regulations
& Achievements incorporating best market practices to streamline HR Policies and practices for a structure
that is compatible and comparable with modern organization.
2. Introduced the concept of performance based remuneration and designed systems for
its implementation.
3. Making compatible the existing and maintain remuneration & reward system based on
market benchmark.
4. Hiring on merit that would base the whole function on the Job Analysis approach.
5. Capacity Building and Training of employees in areas of soft skills, program
management, communications and IT skills.

Organization General Manager (Human Resources & Administration) Mar 2005 – Oct 2008
The Bank has approximate staff strength of 4,300 staff, working in 272 branches and its
back offices. As General Manager Human Resources & Administration I was overall
in-charge of HR functions and policy making. I made following contribution towards the
bank’s HR:
Responsibilities 1. Developed and aligned for the first time in the history of the Bank a Strategic
& Achievements Human Resource Plan and synchronized with Business Strategy of the Bank.
2. Developed and implemented Human Resource Policy Manual. (First time in the
history of Bank, Human Resource Manual covering 19 policies, was developed and got
approved from the Board of Directors in a span of 6 months)
3. Developed SMART goals based Performance Appraisal System in almost all areas
of Operations, Marketing and allied functions.
4. Introduced remuneration & reward system based on performance.
5. Developed a system for Human Resource Planning to fulfill the annual and medium
term goals and targets of the Bank (Time & Motion Studies).
6. Planning and initiation of Change Management Process at the Bank.
7. Human Resource Development of Bank’s staff to keep pace with the changing
scenarios including organizational restructuring, technology and business strategies.
8. Introduction of Knowledge Company Initiative which received an overwhelming
response from all levels of employees.
9. Coordination at all levels and across functions through formation of
committees/task teams to generate ownership of various HR initiatives. This bottom up
approach was part of the change management strategy in the Bank.
10. Administered matters related to policy interpretation and decision making.
11. Employee-Management Communication through start of extensive employee
interaction (open door policy and visits), start of e-Newsletter.

Designation Manager Policy, Planning & Advocacy Department May 1999 – Feb 2005
Responsibilities SMEDA [Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority) is a statuary body of the
Ministry of Industries and Production of Pakistan. In addition to my assignment as Manager
Policy Planning & Advocacy Department I also served on their Human Resource
Development Committee (Headed the Policy Development Initiative), Technical Support
and Project Development & Monitoring departments. Worked closely with the different
government, international and local donor agencies, offering support to Small and Medium
Enterprises (SMEs). (Went to Japan on scholarship from Aug 2002 till Mar2004 for Masters
in Int’l Development Studies.)
