Christians shout for joy and gladness COMMON FAYRE on Saturday 18th June.
This is our 34th Fayre and part of our proceeds will be to support a local charity, the
Nehemiah Project. But we need lots of things to sell on the day! You can now bring
anything you might think we can sell to the church galleries any morning except
Thursday. We particularly need good quality bottles (wine etc), books, toys, videos,
'jams/preserves', plants'. CDs and vinyl records, bric-a-brac, children's' clothes, ladies'
accessories (shoes, bags, belts, hats, scarves - but NOT clothes) - and cakes and
savouries on the day. Do you also have an item or skill or holiday home that you
could offer for the Silent Auction? These are always keenly bid for!
The lists will soon be up too for you to volunteer your time on a stall/sideshow, and
raffle tickets and posters will soon be available too.
But please do reserve the date - you are guaranteed a great day out!
The Big Lunch: Put Sunday 5th June (from 12pm) in your diary for the Holy
Trinity Big Lunch. The idea is to bring your own food to share and in the spirit of
sustainability it should be home-cooked, including home grown as far as possible. It’s
about building a stronger sense of community by talking to neighbours you don’t
know so well and inviting those in need of ‘Human Warming’; someone anxious or
lonely or jobless for example. Plus there’ll be a children’s competition on the day so
look out for details!
Green and Ethical Christmas Fair: Yes, we know it’s only May, but planning has
already begun for Holy Trinity’s inaugural Green and Ethical Christmas Fair. Would
you like to be a part of a small planning team for this exciting event? The team will be
led by Anna Post and Susan Ashworth from the Environment Group; please let us
know if you would like to join us or if you have any ideas for the Fair.
