1st week – completed his safety and shipboard familiarisation. Has satisfactory
knowledge about emergency signals. Familiar with the engine room layout. June 10,

2nd week – Participated in bunker operations. Familiar with the daily sounding and
reading. Has knowledge about the Saturday’s safety routine. June 26

3rd week – Participated in manoeuvring operations with mooring and unmooring.

Assisted in generator engine fuel pumps and injector overhauls, and fuel injector
calibrations. July 07

4th week – Assisted in HFO Purifier bowl assembly overhaul. Assisted in the repair of
the main air compressor air cooler. July 18

5th week – Participated in a fire and rescue drill, abandon ship drill and oil spill drill.
Knowledge about his duties and responsibilities during these drills. July 28

6th week – Assisted in replacing the filters and changing the lubricating oil of the
hydraulic power pack unit engine. Participated in an emergency replacement of a
cylinder head of the main engine. August 12

7th week – Conducted inventory of spares for Auxiliary Engine and hydraulic power
pack unit engine filters. Assisted in the cleaning of filters of the Main Engine Flow
meter and Auxiliary engine flow meters. August 15

8th week – Participated in the main engine scavenging box cleaning and inspection,
and piston rings inspection. Assisted in the overhaul of the main air compressor.

9th week – Assisted in the overhaul of a spare auxiliary engine cylinder head.
Participated in an internal transfer of bilge water from the bilge holding tank to the
slop tank. August 26

10th week – Helped in a major overhaul of the HFO purifier. Part took in the change
of cylinder head of the Auxiliary engine. September 04

11th week – Conducted a boiler and condensate water test, and dosed chemicals to
the boiler condensate water according to the test results. Assisted in boiler bottom
blow down and surface blow. September 10

12th week – Participated in an oily bilge and sludge transfer to a sludge barge.
Assisted in the change oil of the Auxiliary engine governor. September 16

13th week – Assisted in overhauling and testing the relief valve for the exhaust gas
boiler. Helped in an overhaul of the ME and AE HFO circulating pump (gear type
pump) and shaft alignment. September 23
14th week – Assisted in the inspection of the LO purifier supply pump and Fresh
water generator ejector pump. September 28

15th week – Assisted in getting the topped clearance of the Auxiliary engine.
Overhauled the sewage vacuum pump. October 09

16th week – Has satisfactory knowledge about engine room operations about
preparing the engine for manoeuvring, things to be done after receiving C.O.S.P and
before receiving E.O.S.P., and securing the engine after manoeuvring. Participated
in the operation of the engine when the engine control was in the engine control
room. Oct. 15

17th week – Conducted Main Engine, Stern Tube and Auxiliary Engine Lubricating oil
water test. Participated in the inspection and replacement of Auxiliary Engine piston
rings, and cylinder, inspection of cylinder liner. Nov. 29

18th week – Assisted in the changing of filter elements for the HFO auto back-wash
filter. Stopped the Fresh Water Generator. Levelled the surface of the purifier brake
drum using the lathe machine. December 11

19th week – Assisted in checking and cleaning of the filter element and turbocharger
suctions side for the hydraulic power pack engine. Participated in the replacement
of the electric fuel control governor for the hydraulic power pack engine. December

20th week - Acted as a smoke diver during one Fire drill. Assisted electrician in
checking the staying power of the GMDSS battery. Jan. 17

21st week – Participated in the cleaning of the Exhaust gas economizer. Assisted
electrician in cleaning a contactor for the generator load increase. Assisted the
shore technician as he installed a new governor to the generator diesel engine. Jan.

22nd week – Assisted in the charging of refrigerant to the provision refrigeration

compressor. Assisted in the repair of the cracked and corroded Inert Gas
Combustion chamber via shore technician. Feb 10.

23rd week – Adjusted the tappet clearance of No. 3 Generator. Entered the Bow
Thruster Room following the entry procedures to check the bilge alarm. Feb. 19

24th week – Assisted in the main engine cam shaft inspection. Assisted electrician in
cleaning and testing the main engine leakage tank and alarm. Feb. 28

25th week – Assisted in the emergency local control test for the main engine.
Assisted duty engineer during manoeuvring. March 12
26th week – Assisted fitter in checking the tightening torque of the main engine’s
holding bolts using a hydraulic jack. Assisted electrician in repairing the No. 3 Air
Circuit breaker’s automatic spring charging pcb control unit. March 19

27th week – Assisted electrician in repairing the main engine running hour counter.
Assisted electrician in checking the temperature deviation between the local and
remote readings of the main engine exhaust gas. March 28

28th week – Assisted electrician in checking the level and temperature alarms for the
different engine room tanks. Assisted in testing the alarms for the steering gear
system. Assisted in checking the alarms and trips for the generator engine and
emergency generator. April 07

29th week – Participated in a black-out test and checking the automatic start-up of
the stand-by generator. Assisted electrician in changing the battery for the CCR
computer UPS. Assisted electrician in checking the pressure switch and automatic
change over function of the deck water seal pump. April 16

30th week – Assisted in tuning the boiler settings by observing the smoke quality
coming out from the funnel. Assisted electrician in checking and cleaning the main
engine and generator engines oil mist detector units. April 25

31st week – Assisted getting the crankshaft deflection for generator engine. Cleaned
the copper tube and fittings for the main cooling sea water pressure switch. May 03

32nd week – Assisted in the overhaul of the generator engine air starter motor.
