ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

Organizational culture is an idea in the field of organizational

studies and management which describes the psychology, attitudes, experiences,
beliefs and values (personal and cultural values) of an organization

Though google has grown a lot since it opened in 1998 it still maintain a
small company feel.
Google says ‘’don’t be evil’’ suggesting it want its employees to be just, fair
and honest.
At lunchtime, almost everyone eats in the office café, sitting at whatever
table has an opening and enjoying conversations with Googlers from different
teams
Because we believe that each Googler is an equally important part of our
success, no one hesitates to pose questions directly to Larry or Sergey in our
weekly all-hands (“TGIF”) meetings – or spike volleyball across the net at a
corporate officer.
We are aggressively inclusive in our hiring, and we favour ability over
experience. We have offices around the world and dozens of languages are
spoken by Google staffers, from Turkish to Telugu. The result is a team that
reflects the global audience Google serves. When not at work, Googlers
pursue interests from cross-country cycling to wine tasting, from flying to
Frisbee.
As we continue to grow, we are always looking  for those who share a
commitment to creating search perfection and having a great time doing it.

The colours, furniture choice and how comfortable the staff looks? Google’s
offices are a reflection of its commitment and openness to innovation and
great ideas. No wonder anyone would drop to their knees to work for them.

Google corporate headquarters, fondly nicknamed the Googleplex, is located

in Mountain View, California. Today it’s one of our  many offices around the
globe. While our offices are not identical, they tend to share some essential
elements. Here are a few things you might see in a Google workspace:
Local expressions of each location, from a mural in Buenos Aires to ski
gondolas in Zurich, showcasing each office’s region and personality.

Bicycles or scooters for efficient travel between meetings; dogs; lava lamps;
massage chairs; large inflatable balls.

Googlers sharing cubes, yurts and huddle rooms – and very few solo offices.

Laptops everywhere – standard issue for mobile coding, email on the go and
note-taking.

Foosball, pool tables, volleyball courts, assorted video games, pianos, ping
pong tables, and gyms that offer yoga and dance classes.

Grassroots employee groups for all interests, like meditation, film, wine
tasting and salsa dancing.

Healthy lunches and dinners for all staff at a variety of cafés.

Break rooms packed with a variety of snacks and drinks to keep Googlers
going.
Functional Analysis

Functional Analysis provides the detailed analysis of various departments of an

organization
Management Department

Over the past decade, Google has inspired envy in trench-dwelling managers
around the world. It's not just the unparalleled benefits. It's the way Google
approaches innovation. Engineers are encouraged to dream up pet projects in
their spare time. Teams self-form around the best ideas. Market-based
principles ensure that the best ideas receive funding .

There is indeed much to admire about Google's approach, and much to learn
from it. The system ensures that interesting ideas—even those that aren't
obvious fits for Google's capabilities or core business model—receive some
degree of attention.

Managers must believe and follow the concept called as "Delegation without
abdication"... Most of the managers won't.. Manager must know how keep a
track of tasks that have been delegated... He just cannot cut himself off from
the tasks that has delegated.

Employee morale at Google is extremely high and absenteeism is low because

google provide a home like environment for employees, and when there is no
work the employees are allowed to do what ever they want, play in the
compound or even wash their clothes in the laundry provided by google.

Google has invested in several programmes which, while not directly related
to its core business, are designed to encourage innovation in areas that
Google care about

Google has we are Google Ventures, the venture capital arm of

Google Inc. It focuses on finding the most interesting entrepreneurs
from a range of sectors and stages and then using all the resources
to help them succeed.

Google Green is yet another initiative and Google invested more

than 350 Million in renewable resources technology
The new objectives of the company include

Work for a greener earth

Work in philanthropic field via the Google Philanthropic
Make google information more reliable
To ensure that a person gets what he searches for on Google
easily
Google has state of the art head office named GOOGLEPLEX. The four core
buildings, totaling 47,038 square meters (506,310 sq ft)

Since the buildings are of relatively low height, the complex sprawls out over

Marketing Department

It gets reputation by its popularity which proceeds by its word of mouth

publicity, so it doesn’t need to put much work in  marketing its search
engine.

It provides its search engine interface to 88 languages which is helpful for

the locals of the countries.

Its cost-per-click marketing charge & rating policy owner makes it

difficult for the clients to foretell the positioning of their ads & their
costing as per se.

It is the market leader in search engines, with more than 70% people using
it

Recently it launched Google Android mobiles and Google Operating

System for mobiles with the help of HTC and SAMSUNG.

It’s the number 4 th brand in the global brands list with brand value of
43,557 Million and its shares have increased by 7% from previous year.

Its operations are currently in developed countries and we hardly see any
advertisement or marketing programs in developing and underdeveloped
countries like Pakistan.

Google follows a rule of employing the able employees not the

experienced ones.

Most of google’s products are free of cost like Gmail, Orkut and youtube,
Google generates its revenues from advertisements

Google runs on simplicity. The simple and elegant Google homepage

emphasizes the purpose of the site and Google's value proposition: search
for what you need, quickly sort through the results and find what you are
looking for.
Financial Department

Highly trained and experienced financial managers head each financial

department. Controllers direct the preparation of all financial reports -- for
example, income statements, balance sheets, and special reports such as
depreciation schedules. They oversee the accounting, audit, or budget
departments. Cash managers monitor and control the flow of cash receipts
and disbursements and other financial instruments to meet the career and
investment needs of the firm. For example, loans may be obtained to meet
a cash shortage, or surplus cash may be invested in interest-bearing
instruments

Financial managers in financial institutions make decisions in accordance

with Federal and State laws and regulations and policy set by the
institution's board of directors.

Financial managers are provided with comfortable offices close to top

managers and to departments which develop the financial data these
mangers need. Although overtime may sometimes be required, financial
managers typically work a 40-hour week. Attendance at meetings of
financial and economic associations and similar activities is often
required. In very large corporations, some traveling to subsidiary firms
may be necessary.

Google has sufficient assets 59,960,000,000 $ making it strong.
