GENERAL

General
The ship to be built in accordance with this outline specification and general
arrangement

Description
The ship to be an oil product tanker intended for all light and heavy oil products.

The ship to have double bottom and sides, twelve (12) cargo tanks,one(1)
sloptank.Forward ballast tank (forepeak) and a bowthruster room. Engine room with
tanks for diesel oil and fresh water etc to be located aft.

Above engine room a three level deckhause for accommodation and navigation to be
arranged.

The propulsion system consists of one main diesel engine coupled via a gearbox to the
propeller shaft and the controllable pitch propeller.

To make navigation in ice conditions possible the ship to have an ice class notation ,
ICE 1C

HULL AND ACCOMMODATION

General

The hull to be an all welded construction of classified mild steel and high tensile steel
where necessary.

Care must be taken on vibrations induced by machinery and/or propeller when


calculating the hull strenght.

Necessery reinforcements to be done below anchor windlasses, mooring winches etc.

The frame spacing to be aft and fore peak 600 mm in cofferdams 760 mm,
others 700 mm

The cargo tanks to be designed for a cargo density of 1,025 tonnes/m3.

Description

• The double bottom to be longitudinally framed. Floors to be located at every 3rd


frame.
• The ships sides are transversed framed by plate webs at 3 rd frame. One horizontal
stringer at half depth to be arranged.
• Centerline and transverse bulkheads in cargo tank area to be of corrugated type.
• All decks to be longitudinally stiffened and with transverse webs on every 3rd
frame .All structure on upper deck located above deck level.
• The deck house to be separeted from engine casing and funnel.
• The aft body to equipped with a skeg comprising the propeller shafting.
• One flap runder to be equipped.

Painting

All steel plates and profiles to be sand blasted to SA 2,5 and shopprimed. Weld seams
to be free from spatter blassed and shopprimed.

Type and thickness of primer and paint to be in accordance with supplier


recommendation.

External cathodic protection

An impressed current cathodic protection will be arranged for external hull.

Accommodation

The accommodation is located in the deck house aft as per general arrangement . The
lay-out is based on effords to isolate sources of noise and vibrations such as engine
casing and funnel from the accommodation. Cabins for a crew of nine (9) to be fully
furnished and equipped with private WC and shower. One spare cabin to be of
arranged.

Fully equipped and furnished pantry, dayroom and messroom to be arranged.

Air conditioning

All living quarters, engine control room and wheelhouse are to be air-conditioned by
high velocity single duct system with individual air flow control with electrical
afterheating.

The system to be dimensioned to obtain following conditions :

Winter : Outside temp -20 C


Inside temp +22 C
Sea water temp 0C

Summer : Outside temp +35 C


Rel humidity 70 %
Inside temp +27 C
Rel humidity 50 %
Sea water temp 32 C

The pantry to be ventilated by a separate exhaust fan, fresh air inflow through
bulkhead ventilator grille.

Ventilation

Fans to be installed for ventilation of engine room and other closed areas.

Capasity to be sufficient for all installed equipment.

As a minimum engine room ventilation to be according to main engine and auxiliary


engine manufacturer recommedations. Main engine working at 100 % load, at least
one auxiliary engine working at 100 % load, boiler operating at 100 % load and all
their auxiliary equipment.

Cargo system

(See also Principal “Cargo Loading and Offloading System “. Appendix A.)

Each cargo tank to be equipped with one electric hydraulic driven submerged cargo
pump, 12 cargo pumps plas one slop pump, one portable pump totally 14 pumps.

A discharge line from each cargo tank pair to be connected to a crossover line at cargo
manifold.

A separete drop fillig line to each tank ,from pump discharge line , to be mounted.

Drop line to be fitted with diffusor outlet.

The cargo manifold to comprise of at least :

One (1) crossover for each discharge pump,totally six (6)


One (1) crossover for slop
One (1) crossover for high capacity loading/discharging

Spill tray with grating to be of steel.

Flange connections to be arranged on both port and starboard side.

Cargo spill on deck to be drained to drain tank.

One slop pumps to be installed. One in slop tank.


Drop lines with cross connection to make it possible to

Cargo tank hatches

Each cargo tank to be provided with an access hatch and two to be of mild steel.

Access hatches to be in accordance with normal standard, coaming height 900 mm.

Cargo tank access ladders to be of mild steel.

Cargo heating system

A cargo heating system to be provided for heating of cargoes. The system to consist of
one(1) thermal oil boilers with sufficient capacities, approx 1500 kw one exhaust gas
boiler 450 kw heating coils pipes will be stainless steel.

As a minimum the cargo heating system to be able to maintain cargo temperatures at


80 C during winter conditions.

Cargo ventilation system


The cargo tanks should be able to breathe through balanced loaded pressure-vacuum
valves.

A common vapour return line to a crossover to be installed.

Cargo cleaning system, cleaning systems cargo area

For cargo tank cleaning purpose each tank to be equipped with portable cleaning
machine.

Water to the machines to be taken from fire-main and from seperate butterworth line.

1 x 100 % tank cleaning heater to be provided, thermal oil heated, with a capacity able
to head seawater for simultaneous cleaning of 2 tanks with seawater at a temperature
of 80 C

Inlet seawater to heater 5 C

A dedicated butterworth pump to be installed.

Cargo tank drying


A cargo tank drying system with a capacity appr 12.000 m3 /h to be installed.

Air distribution pipes and fan(s) to be installed on cargo deck close to the manifold
with connection to the cargo cross overs.

Remote control and monitoring

Valves and pumps shall be operated from cargo control room.


Each cargo tank and slop tank to be equipped with level monitoring system with
remote reading from operating terminals. All necessary level alarms and pump cargo,
ballast

Deck machinery
Two anchor windlasses,electrohydraulic driven, each combined with a mooring
winch.

Two 6 tonnes mooring winches aft, high warping speed with two independend
drums,electrically driven.

One hydraulic hoses crane for handling of cargo hoses (SWL) 2 t x 12 meter)

One hydraulic crane 0,5 tonnes for provision and spare parts aft.

Required outputs tobe available continuously under tropical conditions.

Normal operating pumps for cooling and lubrication preferably to be direct driven.

The propulsion machinery to consist ofone diesel engine connected to the propeller
shaft via a gearbox located aft of the engine.

Propeller to be of controllable pitch type (CPP).

SYSTEMS (MACHINERY AND SHIP)

Fuel oil system

A fuel oil system for HFO to fit all engine makers to be installed. Transfer of oil to be
possible between storage tanks, between staroge tanks and service tank and from the
tanks to bunker manifold.

Overflow from the service tank to be led to the same storage tank as the purifier pump
is taking suction from.

Possibilities for the purifier pump to take suction from the service tank to be arraged.

An HFO and MDO bunker station to be arrenged port and starboard side at the cargo
manifold on main deck.

Storage tanks and service tanks to be equipped with remote level indication.

Storage tanks to be equipped with high level alarms, independent of the above
mentioned level indicators.

Main engine and auxiliary engine fuel oil systems to be according engine
manufacturer.

The main and emergency diesel generator to operate on MDO. A separate fuel oil
system to be installed. The emergency diesel oil tank to be filled from the service tank
by an electric driven gear pump.

from the service tank.

The HFO and MDO service tanks to have a volume for at least 24 hours continuous
operation at 100 % load for main engine,one auxiliary engine and boiler without
refilling.

Pumps to be equipped for ballast stripping.

Two deepwell ballast pumps located wet in wingtanks in front of the slop tanks and
the engine room.

Remote operated butterfly valves to be installed in DB. Ballast tanks main line will be
connected p sbt tanks additional will be ejecter for stripping.

Bilge system
A bilge and sludge system for engine room to be installed, the systems shall follow all
national and international rules.

In engine room a small pump, bilgewater separator and a bilge water tank for daily
service to be installed.

Required bilge system in cargo area and forward to be installed.

A sludge discharge crossover to be arranged at cargo manifold area.

Fire and wash system


Fire pumps according to rules to be installed in engine room. Hoses and hydrants
where necessary.

A foam central and dire guns on deck according to rules to be provided.

Engine room to protected by a CO2 fire fighting system. CO2 ventilation to be


provided.

Sanitary system
Sanitary system to consist of , among others, the following
Components :

ELECTRICAL AND CONTROL

General
The installation and equipment to be compatible with the recommendations of the
International Electro Technical Commission (IEC) , publication No 92.

All electrial equipment to be designed for an ambient temperature of at least 45 C.

Power supply
Power voltage: 380 V 3-phase 50 Hz AC
220 V 3-phase 50 Hz AC

DC voltage as required.

Electrical generators

1 (one) shaft generator 450 kW


2 (two) diesel driv generators 580 kVA each

Above mentioned power figures to be stated when a final electric balance has been
done.

Diesel driven generators to be able to operate in parallel.Shaft generator to operate in


parallel for load transfer.

All generators to be equipped with stand still heating and embedded termistors in all
windings.

Power distribution
The electrical distribution is arranged with a main switchboard in the engine room,
fitted with panels for generators and outgoing circuits for power and lightining. All
Air Circuit Breakers and Moulded Case Circuit Breakers to be of plug in type.

A power management system including among others following main functions.:

• Auto start and synchronizing of generators


• Frequency control
• Auto loadsharing
• Balanced/unbalanced loadsharing
• Load dependent start/stop
• Black-out monitoring
• Blocking of heavy consumers

An emergency switchboard to be installed normally fed from the main switchboard.

A shore connection with circuit breaker in main switchboard to be installed. Capacity


abt 125 A.

Electric motor
All motors with power rating above 11 kW to be equipped with stand still heating.
Asynchronous squipped cage type.

Wiring
The wiring will be carried out using the merine cable approved by the classification
society.

Communication system
A radio station incl VHF to be delivered and installed.

One automatic telephone system with approx 8 connections to be installed.

One telephone system without battery with connections in wheelhouse, 2 (two) places,
engine room, by the emergency control stand and by the steering gear to be arranged.

A common aerial radio and TV installation with outles dayroom and cabins to be
installed.

Talk back system between wheelhouse and backdeck to be installed.

The vessel to fulfil GMDSS requirements.

Navigation equipment

Following navigation equipment to be delivered and installed :

CONTROL

General

The vessel to be equipped with :

1 (one) integrated computerized redundant system for monitoring, alarm and control
of machinerysystems.
1 (one)computerized redundant system for cargo handling , tank cleaning,ballast
system and cargo tank heating.
1 (one) loading calculator on line with cargo level system

All parameters concerning cargo hadling to be controlled and monitored from this
system. Control station in wheelhouse.

The alarm system to have normally closed contacts.Alarm levels and time delays to be
adjustable. 2 cabins,dayroom and wheelhouse to be equipped with group alarm panels.

Control consoles

Bridge conrol console (BCC) to be installed.

BBC to contain of at least : Main engine and propeller control , bow thruster conrol,
steering control with rudder angle and rate of turn indications, VHF,Telephone and
talk back system.

Engine control consoles (ECC) tobe installed in engine control room (ECR) giving
full control of propulsion machinery , power generation and auxiliary equipment.

All main items for normal operation to be remote controlled.
