COOL HANDS ON ACTIVITY: Make a cone mosaic. Find at least 20-30 golf tees and paint half of them red, half of them black. Push them into a piece of Styrofoam to create a patterned mosaic. GLOBE FUN 1) Review the seven continents and the five oceans. Review the equator and the fact that it divides the Earth into its Northern and Southern Hemispheres. 2) Point out several rivers, including the Nile, the Tigris and the Euphrates. Rivers contain fresh water and carry their water into another river, a lake, a sea or an ocean. 3) Find the location of the Assyrian Empire, which included the Fertile Crescent and parts of modernday Iran, India, Turkey and Egypt.
