MÚSICA E EDUCAÇÃO
A Música Popular Brasileira tem a sua identidade,
e é através dessa personalidade que podemos
discernir, mensurar, e sistematizar
pedagogicamente pontos importantes, que são
exigidos na prática instrumental, seja para
estudantes, apreciadores ou profissionais de
música.
Acredito, que não basta apenas ler uma partitura e
executá-la no instrumento para chegar à essência
de anos de história. Vivenciar por inteiro seu
contexto, ouvindo referências, sua narrativa no
período em que estava inserido, exercitar suas
peculiaridades, reproduzir repertório, são conjuntos
de bons feitos para o desenvolvimento de grandes
instrumentistas.
O programa “Saxofone Brasileiro – Música e
Educação” tem o objetivo de desenvolver os
elementos didático musicais da Música Brasileira e
inserir estas referências na prática da música
popular, seja ela da América do Norte, Europa ou
Ocidente.
Então, chegamos a um passo importante da nossa
tarefa, que é a elaboração de arranjos de músicas
brasileiras para a prática coletiva de saxofonistas.
Durante alguns anos pesquisei arranjadores
brasileiros que escreveram músicas brasileiras para
essa formação instrumental e encontrei
dificuldades, com exceções de obras de Guerra
Peixe (1914 – 1943) e Radamés Gnatalli (1906 –
1988). Encontrei também arranjos lindos,
organizados pelo Instituto Moreira Sales, referente
à obra de Pixinguinha (1897 – 1973), no entanto,
eram arranjos para bandas e orquestras, nada para
quarteto de saxofones.
Diante destas informações, percebi uma lacuna na
produção de repertório, para quarteto de
saxofones de compositores brasileiros, nascendo
assim séries de arranjos.

BRAZILIAN SAXOPHONE -
MUSIC AND EDUCATION
Brazilian Popular Music has its identity, and it is
through this personality that we can discern,
measure, and pedagogically systematize
important points, which are required in
instrumental practice, whether for students,
connoisseurs or music professionals.
I believe that it is not enough to just read a score
and play it on the instrument to get to the
essence of years of history. To fully experience its
context, listening to references, its narrative in the
period in which it was inserted, exercising its
peculiarities, reproducing repertoire, are sets of
good deeds for the development of great
instrumentalists.
The program "Brazilian Saxophone - Music and
Education" aims to develop the musical didactic
elements of Brazilian Music and insert these
references in the practice of popular music, be it
from North America, Europe or the West.
So, we have reached an important step in our
task, which is the elaboration of Brazilian music
arrangements for the collective practice of
saxophonists.
For some years I researched Brazilian arrangers
who wrote Brazilian music for this instrumental
formation and found difficulties, with the
exception of works by Guerra Peixe (1914 - 1943)
and Radamés Gnatalli (1906 - 1988). I also found
beautiful arrangements, organized by the Instituto
Moreira Sales, referring to the work of Pixinguinha
(1897 - 1973), however, they were arrangements
for bands and orchestras, nothing for the
saxophone quartet.
Given this information, I noticed a gap in the
production of repertoire for saxophone quartet
by Brazilian composers, thus giving rise to a series
of arrangements.

Multi-instrumentista, compositor, escritor e
educador.
Iniciou seus estudos em 1992, com o professor
Max Ferreira na atual sede da Associação
Corporação Musical Municipal Maestro “Ângelo
Cosentino” de Leme/SP.
Formou-se em saxofone e flauta transversal
popular no Conservatório “Cacilda Becker” (1996),
em saxofone popular no Conservatório Dramático e
Musical “Dr. Carlos de Campos” (2000), em saxofone
avançado na EMESP (2004) e em Educação Musical
na UNIMES (2018).
Instrumentista e escritor premiado em diversos
concursos pelo Brasil, destacando-se nos festivais:
Coca-Cola SESI de Teatro (1999), Mapa Cultural
Paulista (1999 - 2011), Viola de Todos os Cantos
(2011), Certame da Canção (2011 – 2012), O Amor
na Literatura – Casa do Novo Autor (1999 – 2000 –
2002 – 2003 - 2004), etc.
Pesquisador e educador premiado com o Projeto
Bom Menino no I Prêmio Anhangüera de Educação
(2011).
Palestrante e solista com carreira internacional,
atuando em palcos na Espanha, Portugal, Argentina,
Chile, Cuba, Equador, Tchecoslováquia e Itália.
Atualmente é saxofonista, arranjador e diretor
musical da Datz Jazz Band (Ribeirão Preto/SP),
Supervisor Educacional na "Sustenidos - Projeto
Guri" (Regional Ribeirão Preto/SP), coordenador e
músico do grupo “Quarteto Brasileiro de Saxofones”
(Ribeirão Preto/SP), pesquisador e criador da
organização didática “Saxofone Brasileiro - Manual
de Prática e Improvisação na Música Popular
Brasileira” e um dos responsáveis pela divulgação
da música popular brasileira e sua inserção como
ferramenta para o ensino coletivo.
AUTHOR

advanced saxophone at EMESP (2004) and in Music
Education at UNIMES (2018).
Instrumentalist and writer awarded in several
competitions in Brazil, standing out in the festivals:

Lecturer and soloist with an international career,
performing on stages in Spain, Portugal, Argentina,
Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Czechoslovakia and Italy.
He is currently a saxophonist, arranger and musical
director of the Datz Jazz Band (Ribeirão Preto / SP),
Educational Supervisor at "Sustenidos - Projeto Guri"
(Regional Ribeirão Preto / SP), coordinator and
musician of the group “Quarteto Brasileiro de
Saxofones” (Ribeirão Preto / SP), researcher and
creator of the educational organization “Brazilian
Saxophone - Manual of Practice and Improvisation in
Brazilian Popular Music” and one of those responsible
for the dissemination of Brazilian popular music and its
insertion as a tool for collective teaching.
