Secularism, which denies the reality of an immanent God who created and controls reality by
law, does not acknowledge the reality of sin and evil as distortions of, or transgressions against such
law. Today's contemporary therapeutic culture tends to mask the vality of sin and evil and certainly
“The enlightenment (therapeutic culture) replaced the idea of sin, which is deemed to be an
offence against God.” (Frank Furedi, 2002) “The therapeutic imperative alters the concept not only of
sin but also of virtue.” (Frank Furedi, 2002) Today's contemporary society has nulified the results of
“human rebellion against God ” (lecture 3 Ferber), therefore, the consequences of that deniel seem
mystical. Society (and most humans in general) tends to gravitate to what they can see. In the biblical
account of Thomas in John 20:25, he said, "Unless I see the nail marks in his [Jesus] hands and put my
finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
“Wherefore, as by one man [Adam and Eve] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and
so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12 KJV ) All of us carry a sin
nature within us. Our choices are to either obey the spirit of God that also dwells within us that will
lead us to conform to the righteouness of God or disobey his commandments which will lead to a
spiritual and physical death outside of God's will for our lives.

There is a quote that reads, “one of the biggest lies that Satan tells us is that he does not
exist.” (author unknown) In my opinion, this statement sums up the argument. Secular society
usually only requires reasonable doubt in order to form a fundamentally flawed view of just about
anything. A society that can “understand that the way things are, are not the way things were meant
to be,” (Walsh & Middleton) can globally transform that society generationally.
