Dale Chihuly has collected more than 1000 wool trade blankets The photogravures in The North American Indian portfolio were
since the late 1960s. For Dale Chihuly’s Northwest, the artist collected by Dale Chihuly in the early 1990s.
selected 232 wool trade blankets for a magnificent wall presen-
tation, hinting at the depth of his collection. These blankets were
manufactured from a number of factories, primarily from Pend-
leton Woolen Mills and Oregon city Woolen Mills. Additional
manufacturers include J. Capps & Sons Woolen Mills, Racine
Woolen Mills, Beaver State, Jacobs Oregon City, Beacon Blan-
kets, the Hudson Bay Company, Buell Manufacturing Company,
and Northern Ohio Blanket Mills.
