performances • ^
* This brings me to the main point of my verbal diarrhea: our archaic
gym hasn't got the facilities to cater to 100 people never mind 2,800.
The moment you enter this fine establishment you will begin to sweat,
due to the lack of ventilation. I mean if you have a hard workout you will
reach a point where you will find it hard to breathe and this will probably
happen after five minutes. -k
There are encouraging signs posted in the gym with the heading
"Coming Soon." They are in relation to the new equipment that is
coming to the Hurst. These signs have been in the gym for over a month
now, so what does coming soon mean? Does that mean that by the time
I graduate they will have gotten some new equipment to keep everyone
happy for the immediate future.
Those of you who will try to defend our pathetic room that is referred
to as the gym will say, "well there are two new bikes this year." In
response, I will say to you that there should be another three or four.
Something has to be done about this establishment if they are to call it
a gym, for instance getting rid of all the equipment and buying some new
stuff. If we can afford to spend thousands of dollars each year on flowers
in Garvey park, then surely we can afford some decent equipment in the
gym for the Mercyhurst students who fork out a lot of money to go here.
However, don't forget that the new equipment is "Coming Soon."
