A touch of control.
The touch control and pop-up control knobs of the DHX Isla hoods offer
all the advantages of the most modern hoods. Controlling the speed,
setting the lights or checking the filter saturation are some of the
features of this brand new touch controls. The DHX hoods match
perfectly with the new Teka ovens and microwaves to make your kitchen
a place with a personality of its own.
Automatic start via moisture sensor.

Thanks to the automatic start via moisture sensor, the hood is
autonomous and there is no need to adjust it manually. Furthermore, it
is always at the right speed, thus noise level, energy consumption and
exhaust efficiency are always optimal. The automatic start via moisture
starts up automatically when it detects steam in the kitchen, regulating
the speed, depending on the humidity level (from the first speed to the
third one). The moment it no longer detects humidity, it turns itself off
automatically.

Glass
Islands: an stylish decision.

A well designed cooker hood, crowning a central island or peninsula, could be
regarded as something of an art form, particularly when it includes a
distinctive lighting system. But its real job is of course to efficiently remove all
traces of cooking smells from the kitchen.
Installation advice.
It is recommended to use the ducting tube with a diameter of at least 100
mm for traditional models, or 120 mm for chimney hoods to allow a better air
flow. Chimney hoods sometimes require a reduction of Ø150 / Ø125,
necessary for installation.
Avoid unnecessary curves and bends (elbows) in the installation of ducting,

as these produce noise and loading losses, considerably reducing the output
and useful life of the hood. If absolutely necessary, make reductions in the
flat sections of the installation avoiding long tubes as much as possible.
Position the hood at a height of at least 650 mm for ceramic or gas hobs.
Always install ducting directly to the outside. If this isn’t possible, it is
advisable to recirculate air through charcoal filters, in which case they should
be regularly replaced.

Lighting up your meals.

Another important function of the hoods is to illuminate the cooking
area. Teka hood lighting ranges from traditional bulbs to diachronic
halogen lamps integrated into the casing to provide a more
homogeneous lighting solution. Both options offer optimal levels of
light over the cooking area, and the slope of the canopy on some
models avoids dazzling the user.
Some hoods like DX 90 have centre halogen lamps integrated with

the lean of the wing to avoid direct contact of the lights with the user.

More than an accessory, a recirculation kit is a necessity when
external venting is not an option. With this system charcoal filters
absorb fumes, steam, odours and grease to purify the air,
regenerating it back into the room. It’s a very simple, economic and
ecological technique, but it does rely on the replacement of charcoal
filters when the accumulation of particles reduces their
effectiveness.
