February, 2001 - February, 2007


In February of 2001 I went to work for Dow Chemical, Freeport Division again. I
hired back in to maintenance and quickly moved to the project division. I went t
o projects as a pipe-designer working with Micro-station. August of 2005 I moved
to the Owners Rep./Construction Manager for Small Projects, Dow Plant-A and Sal
t Dome Operations. I managed the projects that ranged from $10,000 to $300,000 i
n labor alone.
In 2006, I managed the completion of 180 projects at Dow Plant-A and Salt Dome O
perations. These projects included Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Instrument, and El
ectrical. Here is an overview of my last job at Dow Chemical.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Owners Rep. For projects that come through the Small Project Process
* Work with each business project team to decide work disciplines and labor reso
urces needed to do the job.
* Do job site visit with engineering and or Project Coordinator.
* Attend pre-construction kick-off meeting with plant and Project Coordinator an
d or Engineering.
* Review job package to assure all necessary documentation and drawings are avai
lable.
* Obtain all quality assurance reports.
* Communicate with core group and off site contractors all safety, quality, and
timeframe expectations
* Contact project representative before any modifications or add-ons are done.
* Obtain as built drawings and return to Project Coordinator or Engineering.
* Give updates to plant rep. on progress of each job.
* Do walk through with project rep. and plant and fill out punch list near compl
etion of job.
* Ensure construction site is cleaned up.
* Return package to project rep.
* Ensure contractors are following Dow safety procedures.
Key Job Skills:
* Operational/ maintenance experience.
* Good computer skills; proficient use of planning and scheduling software
* Working knowledge of P&ID's and isometric drawings
* Very good communication skills (written and verbal).
* Strong interpersonal effectiveness skills and teamwork skills are required.
* Must have demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.

I am working as a Senior Mechanical/Pipe Designer for Day & Zimmerman. I am work
ing with the V8 XM edition and SAP in the design role. I have also been filling
in for the construction and project managers on the jobs that I am involved with
and figuring estimates.
