-Currently managing a cross-cultural team of engineers in the development of Sta
te-of-the-Art CDMA handsets for North America, Latin America, and China.
-Led hardware engineering team in development of innovative, state-of-the-art CD
MA handsets, as well as low-tier, cost-sensitive handsets, for Asia, Africa, and
Australia.
-Worked closely with Quality, Supply Chain, and CTO to meet strict internal requ
irements for handset performance.
-Spearheaded approval processes of major worldwide cellular carriers.
-Co-developed Synthesizer PLL modules that combined stellar integrated phase noi
se and phase lock performance to meet 2.5G telecom standards.
-Designed six-sigma transmitter for industry leading GSM transceiver.
-Innovated and wrote inter-active debug guide for three different products.
Professional experience
-January, 2007 - Present Motorola, Inc Libertyville, IL
Hardware Engineering Manager
Primary current responsibility is the management of hardware development te
ams for cellular handsets.
Development teams consists of RF, baseband, digital, and Mechanical enginee
rs, located domestically and in Asia. Teams also consist of both internal suppor
t engineers, as well as development engineers from multiple ODM design houses.
Besides engineering, there is also a need to interact with the business and
marketing teams, as well as Supply Chain, in order to plan and market the produ
cts successfully.
The position involves a significant amount of domestic and international tr
avel, with a need to develop positive relationships across cultural boundaries.

Lead Electrical Engineer
Provide specifications, direction and leadership to the design team, while
managing the testing and approval process both internally (Quality, Product Safe
ty), and externally (cellular carriers).
When problems surfaced, it was my responsibility to drive toward resolution
s, as well as provide direction on solutions to those problems, and then provide
verification of the solutions.
After products were designed, and tested to internal specifications, it was
then my responsibility to oversee the testing and approval process through cell
ular providers, leading eventually to their commercial release.

Senior RF Development Engineer
Primary responsibility was the design and development of cellular base stat
ion transceivers. This responsibility included initial high-level architecture d
esign, allocation and budgeting of industry specifications to transceiver subsec
tions, design of lower level circuits, including research and testing of possibl
e ICs to be used in the design, advance layout considerations to avoid cross-cou
pling of signals or corruption of DC supplies, computer simulation of design, sc
hematic entry & PCB layout.
Prototype factory build support
This position also required design verification and certification testing (
using Labview for automated testing); statistical analysis of data (using six si
gma and five nines principals); ongoing support and debug for designs in product
ion; cost reduction projects for existing products; band spins for existing prod
ucts so that they can be used in markets that utilize different frequency bands;
documentation and technical reports (using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoin
t); factory test design and support (using Test Stand); working with vendors for
specific IC development (ASICs and modules); part qualification
