The 3-year
degree:
Redesigned.
Redefined.

What will three years of degree college make you? The obvious answer would be a graduate. But you know that in today's
world, a degree in itself is hardly enough. After all, everyone has one!

That's why at St. Mary's we have redefined our degree programmes to be unlike any other - redesigned to give you an edge.
This is done by adopting a holistic approach that combines academics and extra-curricular activities to bring out the best in
you. Equip you for a great career. And a great life.

We invite you to discover more on how our revolutionary approach will make your days at college both enriching and
enjoyable. And how, at the end of three years, you won't just be a graduate - you'll be a go-getter.
Welcome to the St. Mary's way of life.

04 05
Learning,
growing,
having fun.

If there's one thing that sets St. Mary's apart, it's our desire to make every day exciting for students. And the journey truly
begins from Day 1.

New student orientation: A series of orientation activities are held a week prior to the beginning of classes for freshers and
students joining on transfers. During this week, newcomers get acquainted with the college, staff and with fellow students in
an informal environment.

06 07
Modern
thinking,
modern
teaching.

You can expect a lot more from the lecturers at St. Mary's.

They'll be your mentors, who grow to be friends over the three years (which is why our lecturers are respected, not feared).
They enliven the syllabus through project work and interesting assignments and are fully approachable for any assistance
you may need.

Besides this, interactive seminars, guest lectures and group discussions are a regular feature, to broaden your perspectives.
Students are assessed based on the overall performance in each of these activities.

08 09
The future is
tech-driven.

St. Mary's is a tech-savvy college. The entire college is networked through Intranet, which facilitates all communication -
general circulars, notices from the teachers, syllabus information, exam schedules, etc. All information goes to the main
server, and is then easily viewed by every student. A trendy Intranet Kiosk provides the students with a regular update. Plus,
there's the cyber centre, which opens your mind to the wide world around you (it's also a big help when you need to tackle
those assignments).

Our interactive mode of communication is extended to the parents too. Parents can keep in touch with the college and
teachers, and can even keep track on the latest college happenings through our web facility.

10 11
Better courses
for
better careers.

Gone are the days when medicine, engineering and teaching were the sought-after career choices. Today, thanks to
globalisation, career opportunities have opened up like never before. From every field, promising students are often absorbed
straight from campus or while on projects. Keeping the potential for immediate careers and further study in mind, we offer:
• B.Com. (General) • B.Com. (Computer Science) • B.Sc. (M.S.Cs.) • B.Sc. (Biotechnology) • B.A. (Mass Communication).

What follows is a brief outline of what each of these programmes offers. We recommend that you read through carefully so
that you know exactly what to expect, and more importantly, you know whether it fits into the plans for your future.

If you would like any guidance, or further insight before you make your choice, our faculty will be happy to help you make
an informed decision.

12 13
Take on the
real world.

From the day you join us, we begin thinking of your future. Our goal at St. Mary's is to go beyond sound theoretical
knowledge, to give you hands-on experience. So that you are fully prepared for the demands and challenges of the real
world. This is why we consider preparing you for a career as one of the most important co-curricular activities.

To this end, we have a placement cell, which assists students in finding part-time, freelance and summer positions once they
have developed sufficient proficiency in a chosen field. The II and III year students, are sent for on-the-job training in a
professional setting. These internships, (which may be paid or unpaid) are extremely important and give our students a clear
edge over others.

At the end of the degree programme, leading industrial and business houses visit the college to absorb fresh talent straight
from the campus.

14 15
Someone
you can
look up to.

The Founder: Our first junior college was founded by Mr. B. Arogya Reddy - a visionary and a dedicated educationist.
Over the years, he has been honoured with several esteemed awards, including the Best Teacher and the Best Academician
awards. It is through his persistent efforts that St. Mary's College today ranks among the most respected colleges in Hyderabad.

The Momentum: The College is headed by his son, Mr. B. Mahender Reddy - a Business Management postgraduate from
the University of Hull, UK, he is the mark of the new generation.

Being one who understands the pulse of the students, the Principal has given the college a contemporary outlook which is a
reflection of his youthful mindset. His drive and energy to get things done is truly an inspiration to the students as well as to
the faculty.

16 17
23 years of
nurturing
generation
next.

For twenty years now, St. Mary's has been committed to educating generation next. We have started two colleges, the first
being our well-known junior college, which was started in 1982.

The degree college was primarily started to extend our career-oriented approach to education to the extremely crucial
degree college period. After all, what you do during the degree years, could well determine what you will do for the rest of
your life. The many successes our students have achieved, encourage us on our mission of providing guidance, recognising
potential, enhancing talent, and encouraging students to follow their dreams and help them become capable professionals.

And we'll be doing this even 20 years from now.

18 19
The spirit
of youth.

It's true that we are proud of our academic record (which includes state and city toppers). But we're equally proud of our
students who excel in non-academic fields (ace cricketer VVS Laxman for instance). Extra-curricular activities are an integral
part of college life, giving you the opportunity to recharge your batteries each day. You can unwind over a game of
basketball, work out at the gym, or join any of the popular recreation clubs for quizzing, film, music, sports, etc.You may
even be asked to join the editorial team for Vox Populi, the college newsletter, and Horizon, the college magazine.

You can also look forward to the get-togethers and college trips which are our customary break-the-routine features.

20 21
Discover the
all-rounder
in you.

It's true that any college can offer you a degree. But our aim is to give you reason to dream as well.

We firmly believe in the importance of growing in all facets of life, and our academic programme is hence enlivened by
assignments, projects, technology, sports, and a host of extra-curricular activities – all of which will help you discover things
about yourself you never knew. And ensure learnings that can't come out of a textbook.

At St. Mary's, you'll be treated like an adult. Pushed to expand your creativity. And be given ample space to just do your own
thing.

22 23
A campus
that compares
to the best
in the world.

Since you'll be spending a good portion of your day on campus, we thought it should be a place you'll enjoy being in.
That is why our fantastic new campus is unlike any other college in the city. (After all, which college has a 450-seater
cafeteria that's situated in an atrium?)

The facilities include • Contemporary classrooms with audio-visual facilities • Amphitheatre for seminars, film shows, etc.
• An extensive 24-hour library, CD-ROM library and a photocopying centre • An air-conditioned Internet café
• Sports facilities • A stationery store • A first-aid centre

The 70,000 sq.ft. campus is designed by the eminent architect from Canada, Sikander Yar Khan, and will have other state-of
the-art facilities as well.
