when your overhead tank is empty Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) system, automatically
switches on the Pump. When the tank is full it switches off the pump.
Aqua Starter : eliminates the need for any manual switching of pumps installed
for the purpose of pumping water from a reservoir to an overhead tank. It
automatically switches on the pump, when the water level in the overhead tank goes
below a pre-determined low position and switches it off, as soon as the water level
reaches a pre-determined full tank level, So, there is no overflow, optimum usage of
pumps, provided the water level in the reservoir is above a certain level. It also
prevents 'dry run' of the pump, by alerting the user by an alarm sound, in case the
level in the underground tank goes below the suction level.

Water pump will switch ON the pump automatically when the overhead tank is

Aqua Starter : (WPC-DTLI)

The Aqua Starter : Water Pump Controller - Dual Tank Level Indicator (WPC-
DTLI), is a microprocessor-based unit used with either an electrode based sensor or
hydro contact probes. The Level Controller is designed to maintain level in tanks and
control up to two pumps. Functions for control, alarm, indication and flow calculation
are selectable. The Level Controller is supplied with data communication capabilities
so that it can be connected to an WPC-DTLI System.
Aqua Starter or WPC-DTLI System Installation procedure

Combine with the Unicom Solutions Provider's WPC-DTLI System for optimum
motor pump use and efficient tank level controller with perfect performance; Mount
controller box under dash;
Connect colour coded relay harness and WPC-DTLI or Aqua Starter wire loom to
the mating connectors on controller and pump;
Place the water sensor in to the Overhead Water tank or Sintex in horizontal
position.
Important Information Prior To Use

This Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System is intended to be used only with personal
Water Pump only.
No user serviceable parts inside. Live mains present inside the circuits can
render fatal electric shock.
Do not plug anything else except Water Pump to the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI)
System since it draws a very high initial warm up current.
Water pumps, draws a very high initial start up current. So, maintain
precautions in handling it online.
Keep the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System away from Fire/ Heat and do not
allow water or any foreign object to get inside.
Make sure that the Wall Socket for A.C. Input to Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI)
System is properly earthed. Improper earthen / grounding might cause unexpected
current leakage and prove hazardous.
Do not connect the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System's power cord into itself.

Installation of the Aqua Starter

Unpack the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System, and install it on your Wall or on
the Starter panel in a well-ventilated space near the Water Pump.
Mount controller box; Connect colour coded relay harness and Aqua Starter
wire loom to the mating connectors on controller and pump;
Connect the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System to a properly earthed AC socket
and put the wall Starter to ON position. The Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System goes into
STANDBY SENSE SING MODE indicated by MULTI-COLOR LED on the front panel and
the moment it detects low level it starts the water pump automatically, in MOTOR ON
indicated by GREEN LED. RED LED indicates the process of FUSE BLOWN.
It is advisable to set the system on always in AUTO MODE ON; the Aqua Starter
(WPC-DTLI) System is ready for regular use.
Connect all the power cords of the water pump to the relevant correct sockets
at the Aqua Starter (WPC-DTLI) System on power connection panel, and connect the
sensor probes connection wire from the overhead water tank, to the panel below.
Press the front upside panel Starter to ON position. The Aqua Starter (WPC-
DTLI) System will come into active operation and the connected water pump will be
powered up with regulated sensing impulse and keep it running to ensure optimum
use of both clean water and costly electricity bill, so, there is no overflow and no
messy around.
Press the level check / reset option to check the level of water, by the lighted
Full Tank (BLUE LED) or Low Tank (RED LED) in the overhead tank. Release it for Reset
Option to back to Auto On mode.
The installation or repairing done with unauthorized technical personal without
valid certification from the company, makes null & void of the guaranty / warranty
card on the said product.

for operations of pump set in upper/lower tanks. Built in Indications for showing Full,

Aqua Starter : Water Pump Controller & Dual Tank Level Indicator System (WPC-DTLI)
It is a simple electronic circuit based component. That gives indications,
regarding the level of water present, in the over-head water tank of a multi- storied
building that has water supply pipelines for the distribution of water for both
household and commercial use. This system gives the user, the benefit of knowing the
level of water in the water tank by the number of lighted LED lights or by the beeping
sounds of an alarm, which reminds the user, that the pump is running dry with no
water to pump up and to stop it, so as to save the pump from burning. This system not
only indicates the quantity of water present in the tank but also automatically starts
and stops, the water pump, when there is the need of filling the tank or when there is
chance of water overflowing from the tank. Thus this system when installed can save
the user from the trouble of going up-stairs to see the quantity of water present in the

To provide automatic control to water pump. Starts the pump when level in the
overhead (destination) tank is LOW and switches it off when the tank is FULL. This is

SELF-AUTO MODE

Typical Water Supply Systems
This is a standard arrangement where water is drawn from a tube well
(submersible pump) and pumped directly to the overhead tank. A variation to this is a
sump tank where water is received from a tube well or municipal water supply and
then pumped to the overhead tank. Automation system provides Level indication in 5
OR 10 stages depending on depth of tank. Automatic Control of water pump. In case
there are two pumps, then the control system is configured to operate i) In automatic
alternate duty change at every operation. OR ii) Manual pump selector for deciding the
duty and standby pump.

switches OFF, when all the tanks are full.
All tanks are provided with normally open sensor probes. These are
independent of the water level controller and operate as Float /submersed type sensor
probes. Each tank has one level controller to prevent overflow. As each tank gets filled
up, it gives the signal to the pump to Starter off. Just below this overflow level (the
outlet pipe) of this tank, thereby preventing overflow. When the last tank fills up, the
pump switches off.
The unit may also have a level indicator to give the availability in primary tank.
For the level indication, system can be placed at any suitable location near the pump
room.

Product Introduction
This full automatic pump controller (case) specially designed for automatic
water supply from reservoir or deep well. It helps the pump to automatically control
the motor & to start or stop according to the water level of the underground reservoir
or well and overhead water tower, which implements the pump to work safely and
reliably without care. Then, it will save electric energy and human power.
The controller has the protection functions of open-phase, overload, low-
voltage, short-circuit etc, which can effectively avoid the unexpected damage of the
motor.
On the panel of this controller, there are starting and stop button, full tank &
low tank indicator, system status indicator (there will be no water/Airlock/motor jam
indication, by alarm to alert the user). it has auto and manual operation change
Starter. The general operations and running condition of the pump can be
accomplished and monitored on the panel.
The power is 220-volt single-phase and its frequency is 50Hz.The fluctuation of
the power voltage can't overpass 10 percent of the rated voltage e.g. it should be
200V to 240V. Besides the power, what the single-phase controller (case) differs from
the three-phase one is that there is no comprehensive protector for motor inside.
There are packed and unpacked capacitors in the single-phase controller (case), then,
the clients can make a choose referring to the practical condition.
Features
Aqua Starter or Automatic Water Pump - Tank Level Controller System will
automatically START the pump set as soon as the water level falls below the
predetermined level (usually 2/3rd tank) and shall Starter OFF the pump set as soon as
tank is full or water level in the lower tank is at below minimum level.
Aqua Starter provides you the flexibility to decide for yourself the water levels
for operations of pump set in upper/lower tanks.
Built in Indications for showing Full, Empty Levels in Upper Tank and Lower
Tank Empty Indication.
MANUAL operation Starter for special operations like watering the plants or car
washing from pump set.
Aqua Starter ensures no overflows or dry running of pump there by saves

Low AC Voltage sensing circuit to avoid polarization of electrodes in water
(requires very rare cleaning of electrode ends). Provided with special stainless steel
conductive electrodes.

Acknowledgement
I, Partha Sarathi Nath on behalf of Unicom Solution Providers, thank all
those, who have helped me by their valued advices and suggestions for making this
project a success, but as you all know the proverb "Necessity is the mother of every
invention". So also there is a cause for this effective remedy. Let me quote a small
incident that urged me to think for a solution to such a small but great problems, that
not only makes us to pay hefty sum of money for electricity but still, we lose a great
deal of precious water every month, and that's not all, still we have to be alert to
Starter off the pump or else a lot of water will get overflowed, all due to, not timely
switching off the water pump in both domestic and commercial buildings.
It so happened, one day early in the morning, I woke up on hearing the
sound of the water motor pump running, that lifts water from the underground
reservoir to the over-head water tank. I quite in sleepy mood came out of my bed to
see who turned the water pump so early in the morning. To my utter disbelief, I found
that my mother was strolling impatiently on the balcony. I enquired what made, why
she turned on the pump so early in the morning, at this she replied that, she woke up
and went to bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. But to her utter dismay,
when she turned on the tap of the washbasin, she found that it was dry, to verify if
there is water in the tank, or it is empty, she turned on the other taps but the
condition was same as there was no water in the overhead Sintex tank. So it became
essential to turn on the water pump. So she was standing to shut off the pump when
the tank is full. Then I asked her why was strolling impatiently in the balcony, she told
me, that she has to urgently answer to the nature's call. So, she asked me to keep a
watch, to Starter off the water pump, when the overflowing, excess water will fall from
the overflow pipe of the overhead Sintex tank, as a sign of the water tank full. Saying
so, she went to bathroom, to answer to the call of the nature as her usual early
morning habit. After she went in side, I remained there, waiting with sleepy eyes, to go
to bed, after switching off the water pump. As time was passing by and me waiting for
the glimpse of the falling water, as it took time to fill the whole Sintex tank, filled up to
the brim with water. But as all knows that waiting is boring, and that too for switching
off the water pump, when the whole world is fast changing from manual to automatic,
like we use Inverter to give us electricity when there is load shading or power failure,
or like the washing machine that cleans our cloths automatically, or the dish cleaner
that cleans our used cups and plates, than an idea came to me, why not go to the
market to buy such a product to lessen the trouble of filling and controlling the water
tank, so also the pump. When I enquired into different electrical and electronic shops, I
found that, they don't have such a product to sell me that can help the people like us,
from the trouble of switching the water pump on or off. After my futile search, to get
some remedy for my need, I thought and decided that if, I can't get something to
mitigate my pain, than I should make such gadget to help my mother and other
people who need such sophisticated but useful home user gadget, from the trouble
that we face every day.
So, with that aim, my journey into this venture began, after much
observation and analysis, into the cause and need, for such a unique gadget and it's
necessity and effect on water users, made vigorous experiments and trials. At last
after much failure and tiresome Labour, the final but the perfect system was devised,
which was not only, user friendly, better in terms of service but is hygienic also and
that's not all because the most interesting fact is that, it's maintenance cost was nil.
Once installed, the user gets complete peace of mind from all the troubles of water
pump and tank related problems.
My honest, sincere thanks and warm regards to my friends & Well- Wishers,
without whose help and encouragement in every sphere, I could not have been able to
