mplex overseas, the major technology are FCC and RCC Catalyst Cracker, Oleflex,
Molex, Parex etc. and associated CRCS, DRCS and ACCS controls.

Oil / gas exploration project for Sona Hess in Algeria - Africa
I was hired as Start up and commissioning engineer for above project, involv
ing gas compression along with oil production.
The system involved power generation by Gas turbine using GE mark vi controls,
compression of gas up to 400bars, using GE- Thermodyn unit controls, process c
ontrolled by DCS of Emerson Delta V 8.4, PLC of Allen - Bradley with RS logix -5
000 and associated control modules, ESD system utilizing Triconex 1131 model, co
mpressor motor control speed utilizing VFD, the system was supplied by ASI Robic
on of Italy, fire and gas monitor system by General monitors, and host of other
utility system, took active part in SAT for DCS, ESD and other units and commis
sioned them successfully. The worked required a ten hour's seven days schedule t
o complete major part of work.

* One of the largest manufactures of Petrochemicals with an asset of about $100
Billion.
* The job responsibilities were Project conception, Financing and Budgeting, Bid
preparation, Vendor selection, Negotiations, Procurement, Suppliers site visit
for final inspection, Construction bid preparation, Plant construction, supervis
ion, Start-up and final Commissioning and then to look after daily running as we
ll as maintenance and major improvements for more efficiency, Supervised about t
wenty people .
* Team member for any New Technology adoption / Discussion etc. with major play
ers like UCC, DOW, GE, and Honeywell etc.
* The chemicals produced were Olefins, PVC, VCM, LLDPE, PP, HDPE etc. with thei
r own Power plant, Water treatment, O2 / N2 producing facilities and major HVAC
controls facilities.
* The process were controlled by DCS and PLC , having capacity of controlling a
bout 25,000 parameters in one minute, based upon Ethernet and other Industrial n
etworking systems, Also transmitting Data to remote control places thru SCADA.

* The manufacturer of above DCS / PLC were Honeywell, General Electric, Westingh
ouse, Siemens,Fisher,Allen Bradley, Modicon, Fuji, etc.
* Carried out design of hydraulic / pneumatic systems, also of electrical/mechan
ical system .
* The IR, GC, Mass spec,O2, PH, Conductivity analyzers were bought / maintain fo
r Process and Water treatment facilities.
* Responsible for buying Control valves, Safety valves, Tank and pipe line equip
ments along with their safety systems. Hands on experience with Micro station.
* Responsible for construction & commissioning of Gas distribution system of DOW
/ UCC and FPC a joint venture at Dow's Sea Drift site, power distribution and c
ontrols from 69 kV to 440v, carried out DFSP, PSSR etc. as per the ASME, IEEE st
andards. the project cost was around $100m .
* System Communication Network -
Communication between Plant floor and Supervisory level were provided by Netw
orks like, Modbus, Profibus, Device Net, and Foundation Field bus, along with ot
her commercial Networks for PC's as required, supporting RS-232, RS-422 and RS-
485 communication ports, Data Communication was done by Ethernet.
(5) Qatar General Petroleum Corp. - (On / Off Shore) Qatar June 83 - July 88
* Responsible for the Instrumentation and Electrical controls for startup and ro
utine maintenance for Oil / Gas plant as well as power plant, having steam and g
as turbine using GE mark II and IV controls. The data from field (over 150 miles
) were transmitted by SCADA of Ericsson. Also bought meters for Gas /Oil, Pipe l
ine ESD system.
* Responsible for commissioning and maintaining of TDC3000 and TAYLOR-30/300 DCS
System for plant controls, and process analyzers like GC, IR, O2, Moisture etc.
* Worked for loading/ unloading of Oil/gas on Tankers, Trucks etc. with latest s
afety features.
