Objective: As part of my academic training, I have developed a keen interest to learn more about
mechanical engineering and its related fields. As an individual, my objective is to grow and face the

Project Details:
• PS I:
1. Optimization of a rod mill stand to increase its efficiency.
Process study and improvisation in the working of rod mill stand to minimize the
failure of a bearing fitted between the primary shaft and the stand casing.
Considering the environmental conditions suggested a new design of shaft to
withstand the proposed load and the right bearing within given design constraints

Other projects:

• Project Title: Designing and Construction of Wireless Remote Controlled unmanned vehicle.

Duration: September 2008 – January 2009

A small unmanned car, powered with a 3.5 cc Internal Combustion engine, was developed by a
team of 3 members, right from designing the chassis, suspension alignment and steering
mechanism. This car had a maximum speed of around 40 Km/hr. This project was showcased
during QUARK 2009, National level Technical festival, BITS Pilani, Goa campus.
 • Project Title: Increasing the efficiency of solar panel.

Duration: August 2010 – till date

The objective of the project is to find a new solar panel design that would allow increasing its
efficiency by working on photovoltaic devices.

• Project Title: Design Analysis of an adjustable office chair

Duration: September 2009 – October 2009

This project is undertaken as a part of my course – Design of machine elements. We have to
analyze an adjustable chair which is based on the concept of Power Screw and Ball bearings.
Comparison of square, acme, trapezoidal and buttress threads to come up with the best possible
pick for the minimum force requirements.
