11. a) A business firm has recorded the demand for a particular product during the
past 6 weeks as shown below.

14. a) Distinguish between P-system and Q-system in Inventory Management. 8

b) The demand for an item is 24,000 per year. Its production rate is 4000 per
month. The carrying cost is Re. 0.50/ unit/month and the set up cost is Rs. 800/-
per set-up. The shortage cost is Rs. 15/- per unit per year. Determine the Economic
Batch Quantity, maximum inventory and maximum stockout. 12
