Topic : Absorption
Sub-topic / Learning Objective : 4.2 that some materials can absorb more
water
than others.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:-
1) Design a fair test to test the ability of different materials in absorbi
ng water by deciding what to keep the same, what to change and what to measure.

Restructuring of Ideas
(20 minutes)
Observe the materials that absorb more water.
1. Pupils deciding what to keep the same, what to change and what to measu
re.
2. Pupils carry out the test and record the observations.
3. Pupils form a conclusion based on the observations.

Application of Ideas
(15 minutes) Guess The layers that make us know the soil made of. 1.
Teacher lets the pupils know the meaning of silt, clay, dead plant and animals t
hat make the layer of soil.
2. Teacher asks them to guess the arrangement of the layer when dissolve in
the water.
3. Teacher tell pupils to bring sample of soil such as garden soil, beach s
oil or sand for the next lesson to do the experiment. SPS : Communicating
