FADE IN:

EXT. WUZZLEBURG AIRPORT - TARMAC

OPEN ON - A TV ANNOUNCER, holding a mike as she does a

lead-in to the CAMERA.

ANNOUNCER
This is Jann Starl, reporting from
Wuzzleburg Airport. Last night at
Wuzzleburg Music Hall, Wubbzy gave
a Wow! Wow! Wonderful performance
to win the Wuzzleburg Idol talent
contest, and today he’s getting
ready to fly to Wuzzlewood to
perform with that super Pop group,
the Wubb Girlz...And here they
come now!

CAMERA PANS TO -

EXT. WUZZLEBURG AIRPORT - WAITING AREA

The Wubb Girlz and Wubbzy are heading out to the tarmac,
wheeling their luggage behind them. Wubbzy suddenly
stops short, AS WE:

PAN OVER TO REVEAL - there’s a big send-off underway at

the airport--WIDGET holds a bunch of balloons, DAIZY has
a bouquet of flowers, and WALDEN is next to a table with
Grapity-Grape juice boxes and a big Doodleberry cake,
while a CROWD stands behind them.

WUBBZY
Hey, what are all these people
doing here?

DAIZY
We’re here to throw you a going-
away party, Wubbzy.

WIDGET
That’s right, little buddy. This
is a real special occasion.

(CONTINUED)

Wubbzy picks up a juice box and a piece of pie.

WUBBZY
Mmm! Grapity Grape juice and
Doodleberry cake! My favorite!

Walden lifts his juice in a toast.

WALDEN
Here’s to Wubbzy, and his big trip
to Wuzzlewood!

ALL
Cheers!/To Wubbzy!/Hurray!

Everyone downs their juice.

WUBBZY
Thanks, everybody. I’ve never
been to Wuzzlewood before. I hope
I have fun!

SPARKLE
Oh, you’re going to love it,
Wubbzy.

SHIMMER
It’s a super huge city.

SHINE
With lots and lots of people.

WUBBZY
Really? Do they like to play
kickity-kick ball?

SHINE
No, everyone is too busy to play
games.

Wubbzy goes over to a tree, hops up, and grabs onto a

limb and swings around.

WUBBZY
Well, are there lots of trees in
Wuzzlewood? Cause I love to climb
trees!

SPARKLE
Nope, no trees. But there are lots
of really, really big buildings.

Wubbzy holds up some Grapity-Grape juice and Doodleberry

pie.

WUBBZY
Gee. Uh...do they have Grapity-
Grape juice and Doodleberry cake?

SHIMMER
Nope. They only eat really fancy
food in Wuzzleburg.

WUBBZY
Oh. Wow...

Suddenly they hear:

THE ENGINE <ROAR> on the sleek WUBBJET, which sits a

little further down the tarmac.

SPARKLE
Hey, the Wubbjet is warming up -
it’s almost time to go!

The Girlz walk off toward the jet as Wubbzy lingers

behind.

WUBBZY
Gee, I don’t know if I’m gonna
like Wuzzlewood. No Kickity-kick
ball, no trees, and not even any
Grappity-Grape juice and
Doodleberry cake...And I’ve never
been away by myself in a big city.
What if I get lonely? What if
nobody likes me? Maybe I should
just stay home.

The Wubb Girlz standing next to the jet.

SHIMMER
Come on, Wubbzy, it’s almost time
to board the WubbJet!

Stalling for time, Wubbzy looks around nervously.

WUBBZY
Yeah..Um...
(gets an idea)
Omigosh, I forgot my teddy bear!
I can’t go anywhere without my
teddy bear! I guess I have to
stay home.

As Wubbzy feigns great sadness.

DAIZY
It’s okay, Wubbzy.

Daizy spins around and instantly produces his teddy bear.

DAIZY (CONT'D)
Here it is!

Wubbzy takes it, grudgingly.

WUBBZY
Oh - Thanks, Daizy...

SHINE
Let’s go, Wubbzy!

WUBBZY
Uh...
(gets another idea)
Oh - I just remembered!

He reaches into his luggage and pulls out a BOOK.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
This library book is due today.
I’d better being it back right
away...

Wubbzy is about to dash off when--

WALDEN
I’ll take care of it, Wubbzy. I’m
going to the library anyway.

Walden gestures to a wagon carrying a tall stack of

books. Wubbzy places his own book on the stack.

WUBBZY
Thanks, Walden...

THE Jet engine <REVS> again.

SPARKLE
Time to board!

As The Wubb Girlz lead Wubbzy down the runway, he thinks

fast again.

WUBBZY
Um...Wait - If I go now, I’ll miss
my cha-cha-cha lessons with Madame
Zabinga!

SPARKLE
Don’t worry, Wubbzy. We can teach
you how to do the cha-cha-cha!

SHIMMER
Sure.
(starts dancing)
(MORE)
(CONTINUED)

SHIMMER (CONT'D)
One-two, Cha-cha-cha! Three-four,
Cha-cha-cha!

The other Girlz join in.

GIRLZ
One-two, Cha-cha-cha! Three-four,
Cha-cha-cha!

SHINE
Come on, Wubbzy!

Wubbzy reluctantly joins in.

GIRLZ AND WUBBZY

One-two, Cha-cha-cha! Three-four,
Cha-cha-cha!

The jet engine <revs> up.

EXT. WUZZLEBURG AIRPORT - TARMAC - RUNWAY - DAY

The Girlz and Wubbzy cha-cha-cha towards the plane.

WUBB GIRLZ
One-two, Cha-cha-cha! Three-four,
Cha-cha-cha!

The Girlz cha-cha their way up the steps of the jet.

Wubbzy comes last, chanting and cha-cha-cha-ing as well
but when he gets to the steps he turns.

WUBBZY
I’m not going, Cha-cha-cha!

WUBB GIRLZ
Huh?

EXT. WUZZLEBURG AIRPORT - TARMAC - LUGGAGE AREA - DAY

Wubbzy runs right past his friends.

WIDGET/WALDEN/DAIZY
Wubbzy!

Walden, Daizy and Widget take off after Wubbzy.

PAN TO ANNOUNCER - watching the action.

ANNOUNCER
Something’s gone wrong: Wubbzy is
running away from the airport!
I’ll be following this developing
story!
(CONTINUED)

And with that, the Announcer starts running after the

story.

EXT. WUZZLEBURG - STREET - DAY

Wubbzy runs through the streets of Wuzzleburg. He looks

over his shoulder and sees Walden, Widget and Daizy
chasing him.

WUBBZY
Uh-oh! They’re gonna bring me
back to the airport! I better
hide!

Wubbzy quickly ducks behind a PARKED TRUCK. A moment

later the TRUCK drives away, leaving him exposed.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Oops.

Wubbzy runs ahead and ducks behind a LARGE CRATE. A

moment later the Crate descends on a street elevator into
the sidewalk, leaving Wubbzy out in the open again.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Yikes.

Wubbzy rushes ahead, and this time he hides behind a

shrub. But the shrug turns out to be a LARGE GREEN BIRD,
who unfolds his wings and flies off -

GREEN BIRD
<Squawk!>

- leaving Wubbzy exposed again.

WUBBZY
Rats!

Wubbzy runs on.

EXT. YUM-YUM RESTAURANT

Wubbzy stops at the Yum-Yum restaurant.

WUBBZT
The Yum-Yum Restaurant. I’ll hide
in here!

He runs inside.

INT. YUM-YUM RESTAURANT

Daizy, Widget and Walden enter, and look around.

WALDEN
Hmm. I thought he ran in here.

DAIZY
I don’t see him...

A moment later, CHEF FRITZ brings a covered dish to a

nearby table. With a flourish, he lifts the lid, and
reveals ---Wubbzy!

WUBBZY
<giggles>

His friends turn and see him.

ALL THREE
Wubbzy!

WUBBZY
Uh-oh.

Wubbzy dashes out the door.

EXT. ARCADE

Wubbzy runs up to an arcade.

WUBBZY
I’ll hide in here!

Wubbzy ducks into the arcade.

INT. ARCADE - DAY

The arcade is filled with WHIZZING, BEEPING, RINGING

games flashing with blinking lights.

Wubbzy looks around wildly for a hiding place, and then

dashes O.S.

A Moment later Daizy, Widget and Walden enter, and look

around.

WIDGET
I’m sure I saw him come in here!

But he’s nowhere to be seen. They scratch their heads,

puzzled.

(CONTINUED)

BEHIND THEM, in an ARCADE GAME, we see a bunch of stuffed

animals in a bin, with a Claw-Grabber hovering above.
Right in the middle of the stuffed animals, we see Wubbzy
hiding.

WUBBZY
<giggles>

But then, A KID puts a coin in the machine and works the
Claw. It reaches down and plucks Wubbzy out of the bin.
As Wubbzy dangles in the air, his friends turn and spot
him.

ALL THREE
Wubbzy!

WUBBZY
Uh-oh!

The Claw drops Wubbzy down a chute, and he pops out of

the bottom slot. Wubbzy hits the ground running, and he
dashes out of the arcade.

KID
Hey! My prize ran away! No fair!

EXT. WUZZLEBURG ZOO - ENTRANCE - DAY

Wubbzy runs up to the entrance to the zoo.

WUBBZY
The zoo’s a good place to hide!

He rushes inside.

EXT. WUZZLEBURG ZOO - DAY

Wubbzy runs past the exhibits, and stops by the MINI

MARSHMONKEY exhibit, which is filled with small,
hyperactive white monkeys that <chatter> like crazy.

Right next to the cage is a big cart full of bananas.

WUBBZY
I know - I’ll blend right in with
these bananas! They’ll never see
me.

Wubbzy jumps into the cart, and sure enough, his yellow
body blends in perfectly.

Walden, Widget and Daizy run up and look all around.

(CONTINUED)

DAIZY
Where could he be?

As they stand there puzzled, THE ZOOKEEPER opens the cage

door and grabs a couple of bananas.

ZOOKEEPER
Lunch time! Come and get it!

He flings the bananas into the cage, and the Mini

Marshmonkeys pounce on them.

Wubbzy tries to sneak off the cart, but the Zookeeper

grabs his tail, thinking it’s a banana, and flings him
into the cage.

As Daisy, Walden and Widget move on, the monkeys swarm

Wubbzy, hopping up and down on him, and making him
<GIGGLE>.

WUBBZY
(giggling) Stop it, you silly
monkeys!

ZOOKEEPER
Hey, you’re not a banana!

The Zookeeper shoos off the monkeys and rescues Wubbzy.

ZOOKEEPER (CONT'D)
Sorry about that, Wubbzy.

Suddenly his friends, from a distance, spot him.

ALL THREE
Wubbzy!

WUBBZY
Uh-oh!

Wubbzy hurries to the exit.

EXT. WUZZLEBURG - STREET - DAY

Wubbzy runs down the street, panting. He spies a

construction site and makes a dash for it.

EXT. WUZZLEBURG - CONSTRUCTION AREA - DAY

Wubbzy scurries into the shovel of a construction crane

and hides.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED:

WUBBZY
Oh, this is perfect! Nobody will
look for me in here!

And all is well...until the CONSTRUCTION WORKER starts

operating the crane, and Wubbzy is lifted way up in the
air. He pokes his head out.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Hey, wait a minute!

The shovel tilts forward, dumping Wubbzy into a long

chute. He zips down it like greased lightning.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Whoa!

And slides right into a giant mixmaster of cement where

he spins helplessly around and around.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Some--bo--dy--turn--this--off!

The mixmaster tips, depositing the load of cement on a

new stretch of sidewalk. Wubbzy’s head pops out of the
mound just in time to see a steamroller headed toward him
to flatten out the mound.

WUBBZY (CONT'D)
Help!

In the nick of time, a crane comes down and plucks him

out of the cement. He swings sideways and is set down in
front of Daizy and Walden.

PULL BACK - we see Widget operating the crane.

WALDEN
Nice job, Widget!

WIDGET
No problemo!

ON ANNOUNCER - reporting the story.

ANNOUNCER
This is Jan Starl, reporting from
a construction site in downtown
Wuzzleburg. Wubbzy has been
saved! Repeat - Wubbzy has been
saved!

The cement mixer behind her suddenly pours a heap of wet

cement all over her <Plop!>

(CONTINUED)

ANNOUNCER (CONT'D)
Hey...!

ON WUBBZY - as Daizy and friends help him clean off the

wet cement.

DAIZY
Wubbzy, how come you ran away?
You’re supposed to go to
Wuzzlewood.

WUBBZY
Well..to tell the truth, I’m
afraid to go to a strange new
town. It scares me.

WALDEN
I understand, Wubbzy. New
experiences can make you very
nervous.

WIDGET
But you shouldn’t be afraid to
take a chance!

WALDEN
No indeed. When I was younger, I
took a chance, and went to the
South Pole.

A FLASHBACK BUBBLE APPEARS over Walden -

In the Bubble, WE SEE Young Walden standing on an

iceberg.

WALDEN (CONT'D)
At first I was very cold and
lonely...

We truck out to see YOUNG WALDEN surrounded by loving

penguins.

WALDEN (CONT'D)
But then I made lots of new
friends!

The BUBBLE disappears -

As Wubbzy is starting to get excited.

WUBBZY
And that never would have happened
if you’d stayed home!

WALDEN
Precisely.
(CONTINUED)

WIDGET
And remember when I went to the
Great Invention Convention with my
Moo-Cow Milking Machine 3000? I
didn’t think I had a chance...

ANOTHER FLASHBACK BUBBLE -

WE SEE Widget holding a ribbon.

WIDGET(CONT'D) (CONT'D)
But I won first prize!

Suddenly a cow-shaped machine spouting milk from a series

of hoses runs past, out of control, and Widget drops the
ribbon to chase it around the field.

WIDGET(CONT'D) (CONT'D)
Oh, wait a minute - No, I didn’t.
But I learned a lot!

As BUBBLE DISAPPEARS -

Wubbzy is bouncing up and down a little now.

WUBBZY
That’s right, Widget! You came
home and were a better inventor
than ever.

DAIZY
And when I first moved to
Wuzzleburg, I didn’t know anybody
at all. But now I have lots of
great friends - like you!

WUBBZY
That’s true, Daizy.

DAIZY
So you see, sometimes you have to
take a chance, Wubbzy.

WALDEN
Yes yes yes! You’ll never know how
much fun you can have if you don’t
try.

WUBBZY
I guess so...But if I go away by
myself to Wuzzlewood, I won’t get
to have fun with you guys. And
that’s what I’ll miss most of all!

His friends look to each other, and then smile.

(CONTINUED)

WALDEN
Is that all? Well, then we’ll
come with you!

WUBBZY
You will?

DAIZY
Sure - let’s all take a chance!

WUBBZY
Wow - Wuzzlewood won’t be scary
at all if I have you with me!

O.S. <BEEP-BEEP!>

Wubbzy turns and sees -

WIDGET - behind the wheel of the WUBBMOBILE.

WIDGET
All aboard for Wuzzlewood!

WUBBZY
(excited)
Come on! What are we waiting for?

The gang piles into the Wubbmobile.

EXT. STREETS OF WUZZLEBURG - DAY

Wubbzy is overjoyed as they drive down Main Street and

take off for Wuzzlewood, as the whole town <cheers> them
on. Overhead, the Wubb Girlz wave happily down from
the Wubbjet.

ON ANNOUNCER - as she reports to the Camera.

ANNOUNCER
So all’s well that ends well, as
Wubbzy and the Wubb Girlz finally
make their way to Wuzzlewood. And
it looks like the whole town of
Wuzzleburg is here to say, “Bye
Bye, Wubbzy!”

Wubbzy sticks his head out of the sunroof and waves

goodbye.

WUBBZY
Bye Bye, Wuzzleburg!

AS the Wubbmobile heads out of Wuzzleburg, WE:
