RESUME

Having been an on-site Manager of The Business Service Center in LaConner, Washi
ngton, a Jenny Craig consultant, and a UPS Supply Chain Solutions (formerly Bor
der Brokerage Company, Blaine, WA) U.S. customs brokerage division, Analyst/Rate
r, my knowledge and experience in office procedures is well rounded. Having had
several years of daily one-on-one interaction with clients, working without sup
ervision, a team member with co-workers ranging from entry level first job after
high school graduation to retirement ages, plus a lifetime people person, I fe
el my skills would be a positive contribution to the success of an established o
r growing company. My business and personal outlook is, One Person Cannot Know
Everything. If unsure of a procedure, I do not hesitate to ask questions.
As a U.S. Customs Brokerage Analyst/Rater with UPS Supply Chain Solutions in Bla
ine, Washington, I completed eleven years, three months on August 07, 2010. I wo
rked daily with U.S. Customs deadlines, performing electronic submissions of sh
ippers cargo information to U.S. Customs for certification and release of shipme
nts from Canada into the United States. The procedures entailed precise and time
ly record keeping, communication with shippers and their drivers regarding satis
fying U.S. federal requirements to prevent delay and/or seizure of their goods,
and smoothing ruffled feathers of shippers, importers and exporters if all was
not going as quickly or as legally as they wish. I am seeking other employment d
ue to the U.S. economic downturn, causing many business closures and loss of bus
iness revenue. Over the past year UPS-SCS has closed many of their brokerage of
fices nationwide. Our office alone has decreased its office staff by approximat
ely 30% (if not more), by permanent lay-offs, encouraged early retirements (shar
ed with me by a co-worker who took the early retirement), and terminations accor
ding to job needs and job positions. After 11+ years in their employment, I was
one of the employees terminated for not consistently achieving their most recent
increased data entry lines per hour requirement. It has become necessary for me
and many of my co-workers to once again seek steady employment.
My employment with Jenny Craig was personally fulfilling and rewarding, assistin
g men and women in their search for a healthier lifestyle. The offer of managin
g The Business Service Center in LaConner Washington made it impossible for me
to continue with Jenny Craig.
The Business Service Center serviced walk-ins and local professionals with thei
r clerical needs. Again, as a people person and one that approaches work with d
etail and deadline concerns, my services were appreciated in the community.
I live alone and available to work any shift hours, weekdays, weekends and holid
ays.
I approach my employment with professionalism and respect, open to constructive
feedback, and I have a gentle sense of humor.
