Message from the Vice-Chancellor

I find much pleasure in greeting all of you for a happy

and successful academic life through the distance education
of Bharathiar University. I personally and happily welcome
you. At the out set, I assure that your course of study through
the distance mode of this university is going to be a successful
one.

Bharathiar University, one of the top ten universities

at the national level, is initiating various steps regularly to
improve the quality of education and the method of importing education on- a- par
with any foreign university.

Distance education mode, even developed countries considered as one of the

effective modes of imparting instruction to students, who could not pursue their
studies in the normal course of study. However, I personally feel that pursuing
knowledge is more important to an individual than the channel in which the knowledge
is acquired. As such, the distance education mode is an alternative mode of acquiring
knowledge to reach the unreached.

That is why Bharathiar University has taken the mission “Shape Your Future
through Distance Education Mode”, to mould the golden future of the students
through distance education.

Moreover, in the context of globalization, it becomes increasingly important to

select the university that provides courses which are relevant to the current situation
and for future employment. Here, I would like to strongly emphasis that this university
is one of the leading universities, which provides the best job oriented courses and a
variety of courses to suit any student.

I will be happy if you could go through the page which lists down the special
features of our distance education programmes.

Once again, I am much delighted to welcome you as a student of this wonderful

university to shape your future.

Prof. Dr. G. Thiruvasagam

Message from the Director

Dear Students,

Greetings, It is known that Distance Education is less a philosophy and more a

method of education. The distance learners could study at their own time, at the
place of their choice and with or without face-to-face contact with the instructor.

Distance Education being flexible in nature could be built around the

geographical, social and time constraints of individual learners rather than those of
an institution and chance often associated increased access and more openers.
Keeping this phenomenon in mind, Bharathiar Univerisity, Coimbatore known for
its excellence in education has its motive as Excellence and Relevance. It is our
privilege to welcome you to enroll yourself into any of professional UG / PG / PG.Dip
/ Dip.Courses offered by the School of Distance Education besides assuring best
service for your progress, growth and success

Dr. N. Balasubramanian
