Operations Planning & Leadership
* Independently planned/directed large-scale chapel programs and student ministr
y. Scope of responsibility included the reorganization and rebuilding of several
programs that were stagnated or in decline. Hired staff and strategically plan
ned program for growth opportunities, influencing the entire organization.
* Directed/supervised several shore, afloat and educational programs. Planned a
nd oversaw several international community relations projects, dramatically impr
oving diplomatic and personal relationships.
* Key organizer, leader and participant in emergency response to base personnel
who lost loved ones and friends in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in N
ew York City. Also organized and led a Chaplain Emergency Response Team for a f
atal air disaster involving the death of nine individuals from Naval Air Enginee
ring Station, Lakehurst, NJ. Planned a statewide memorial service attended by t
he governor and other state dignitaries.
* Part of the initial team of Chaplains responding to Hurricanes Rita and Katrin
a relief efforts with the United States Coast Guard. Visited several local comm
ands and ministered to those who had lost loved ones and property. Part of the
local Admiral's staff overseeing the relief efforts.
Financial Leadership
* Planned and allocated annual operating budgets valued up to $150,000 and overs
aw several contract employees. Designed and executed several building projects
including a cyber cafe and a chapel annex/education building.
* Managed over $500,000 in funding for needy military and civilian families thro
ugh Thanksgiving food basket programs, Christmas toy give-away programs, communi
ty relations projects and other projects as needed. These outreach initiatives
brought hope to countless individuals and added significantly to overall militar
y and personal readiness.
Team Building & Leadership
* Increased participation in chapel services, educational opportunities and sing
le sailor programs-many by several hundred percent-ensuring the right of all peo
ple regardless of race, religion or ethnic background to be able to practice the
ir chosen faith preference.
* Mentored, encouraged, built cohesiveness, and dealt with conflict resolution i
n several staff opportunities providing a more stable environment and improving
overall morale.

Inter-Agency Relations & Liaison Affairs


* Selected to team-lead high profile liaison affairs between chaplains from the
Army, Navy and Air Force to
assist ministry efforts across service lines at all bases on the eastern
seaboard.
* Planned and executed a high level worship service in Malta for the President o
f the United States and his
senior staff, as well as members of the senior military leadership team i
nvolved in negotiations at the Malta
Summit in December 1989.
