* 2009- 2010 - Project Controls Manager - M&H Energy Services - Houston, Texas R
esponsible for project controls reporting, standards, schedules, and other admin
istrative functions.
* 2009 - Interim Project Scheduler - BG-Group - Houston, Texas Client scheduler
on $4.4 Billion LNG project. The Coal Seam Gas LNG Project consists of wells to
be drilled, pipelines with compressor stations, and an Optimized Cascade Process
facility for LNG distribution to market
* 2007-2009 - Commissioning & Start-Up Planner - Shell (Motiva) - Houston, Texas
C&SU Planner on $8 Billion Motiva refinery expansion in Port Author, Texas. Res
ponsibilities included the Commission and Start-Up schedule, and training of new
operators and crafts schedules, and support project planners (E,P,C). Set up co
ding system for merger with contractor's pre-commissioning schedules.
* 2006-2007 - Principal Planner - Aker Kvaerner - Houston, Texas Principal Plann
er on $750 mil. LNG facility at Cameron LNG Project in Cameron, LA. Responsibili
ties included the EPC, Commission and Start-Up schedule and training of personne
l.
* 2004- 2006 - Corporate Planner - M&H Energy Services - Houston, Texas schedule
EPC offshore well projects. Responsibility included writing procedures to upgra
de the project controls department to industry standards.
* 2001-2004- Corporate Planner - MODEC - Houston, Texas scheduled the complete o
ff shore project, starting with Contract Award through Commissioning, installati
on & Start-Up. The projects are TLPs, CP-Semi, FSOs, & FPSOs. Responsibilities i
ncluded writing procedures to develop the project controls department into indus
try standards.
* 1998-2001 Contracted to DuPont - Beaumont, Texas Trained DuPont personnel on t
he use of Primavera Software. Set up shutdown schedules on three chemical units.
Each schedule included detailed Operations sequence of shutdown & start up for
each unit, and tag out procedures for maintenance work. Eight unit shut downs we
re completed on under cost 20% of labor ($450,000 ave.) & schedule (3 to 1 day)
.
* 1997-1998 Contracted to Fluor Daniel on a Coker Revamp in Good Hope Refinery,
LA. Supervised schedulers on the detail construction revamp work, set up the com
missioning schedule for system turn over, as well as, participate in setting up
turn over packages and procedures. Acted as Project Controls manager for project
close-out.
* 1996-1997 Project Planner for M.W. Kellogg on a $450 mil. Ammonia grass roots
project for Farmsland Miss Chem., LTD - Trinidad. Responsibilities included est
ablishing total project schedule, quantity and progress curves. Worked with star
t up team in setting up the commissioning schedule. Developed and taught an exte
nsive 80 hr. class in Project Controls to 24 people.
* 1993-1996 Sr. Project Planner for M.W. Kellogg on a $680 mil. Maraven, Refiner
y Expansion - Venezuela. As Chief Scheduler responsibilities included supervisin
g a team of 13 schedulers and developing the detail 25,000,000 MH schedule on th
e "Offsite" construction portion of the total $1.6 billion expansion. Duties evo
lved into the detail planning of systems turn over, collection of data, and prog
ress reporting to insure complete package turn over to the client. I developed a
nd taught a Project Controls class for 13 Venezuela personnel.
* 1992-1993 Planning Engineer for M.W. Kellogg on a $400 mil. Ammonia / Uria pro
ject for IKPT in Indonesia. Responsibilities included developing the detail cons
truction schedule for the two units and teaching project controls class to the 8
Indonesian personnel.
* 1990-1992 Sr. Scheduling Engineer for M.W. Kellogg on a $750 mil. Mobil Refine
ry Expansion Project - Beaumont, Texas. Besides scheduling construction work, re
sponsibilities included supervision, management reports, working with client wit
h their sub-contractors, and teaching of "The Value of Project Controls" to craf
t foremen. The purpose of the class was to teach the foremen how to use project
controls to plan their work, and to evaluate the work of their crews.
- 1986-1990 Consultant - Project Controls Mgr. on Steel Mill project and comp
any restructure with United Engineering at Pittsburgh Pa. Set-up the Project C
ontrols department for the Company
- 1985-1986 Construction Manager for Royden Engineering - Phoenix, Az. Various
projects from bridges to residential and commercial.
- 1983-1985 Consultant. - Scheduler - Arizona - Samalac facility for Abbott-Ross
Lab Fully automated facility that consisted of 11 acres under roof; Cogeneratio
n project with Abbott Lab. in Puerto Rico;
- 1981-1983 Project Controls Manager on Champlain (CITGO OIL Co.) Refinery expa
nsion at Corpus Christi, Texas. Developed and implemented the project controls p
rocedures which brought the project to a 15% budget savings and ahead of schedul
e.
