Assumed responsibilities of the Asst Materials/Inventory Control Manager (for ma
ny years)
Responsible for daily order planning & procurement of Inventory items.
Authorized Rep. Buyer for several commodities in Inventory, placing Blanket Pur
chase Orders.
Before HAAS took over HazMat items, responsible for placing gas orders (site-wid
e) for various gases and specialty mixed gases; SLAC owned and vendor cylinders/
6pks. Schedule Refill (& maintenance) of Helium Tube Trailers and Nitrogen Tank
s.
Order supplies from Vendors with online access programs.
Manage Vendor Relationships and assist customers/users with special requests, ex
pedite orders and follow thru until completion.
Liaison between SLAC Users, Engineers, E.S.&H., and Vendors in sourcing obsolete
/discontinued items, or implementing Building & Safety Code changes.
Submit Purchase Requisitions for some commodities.
Maintain accurate Inventory Item Descriptions and Order Specifications.
Manage Reorder Point (w/SafetyStock) Qty's and Warehouse Min (SS) & Max Qty's.
Provide reorder status to Custodians for Special Process Spares items, these are
High $ Dollar items that are crucial to the operation of the Accelerator 24/7.
Phone atom for Purchasing Dept.
Establish Blanket Purchase Orders for high demand items; establish New BPO's an
d Modify existing.
Manage daily/monthly Inventory Reports; Activity/In-Activity Report, expedite ba
ckorders,etc.
Manage Vendor Database; add new, update, inactivate.
Maintain Artwork/Film for SLAC forms and custom parts, coordinate any changes wi
th Stanford Tech Publications.
Manage location changes and other various data changes for warehouse.
Train warehouse storekeepers in PeopleSoft Inventory Control modules.
Backup for Cycle Counter and Storekeepers.
Many other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
