In a 12 week period the store has gone from Mystery Shop scores of low 70% to ab
ove 85%, out of stock levels of over 200 daily to under 80 items. Overall store
merchandising altered to a more customer friendly shopping experience. Perisha
ble departments are now up to company standards with proper culling, quality dis
played product and adjusted shrink control. The sales trend of -14% from last y
ear is down to -11%.
Store Director - July 2001 to February 2009
Shoppers Food and Pharmacy - Maryland Locations
Effectively managed budget, labor, scheduling, cash control, and in-depth scruti
ny of shrink and inventory procedures. Executed experienced logic needed to expo
se shrink loss due to improper invoice posting and lack of departmental delivery
checks prior to the close of inventory. Coordinated store remodel and grand ope
ning with extensive prioritization and follow through. The results of this remod
el were regarded as the most well thought out and directed by corporate office.
Managed an underperforming store, altered associate's negative work ethics, and
developed positive strategies to motivate and reward associates. Results were 1
6% sales increase in a 15 month period.
