RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
OPPORTUNITY: Led the efforts to analyze data requirements of the three major com
panies. Manage the Design, procurement and testing, a prototype U. S. Air Force
and Missile Defense Agency airborne Network-Centric data acquisition and analysi
s system to be delivered and operational in two years; The data acquired by this
system was key in determining the affects the aircraft flight dynamics had on t
he laser optics benches and vice versa.
RISK: If the system was not operational in one year the first flight milestone w
ould be missed and there was a high probability of losing further program fundin
g.
ACTION: Collaborated with System Design, Analytical colleagues, and Aerospace en
gineers and conducted a data acquisition, recording, and analysis system Trade S
tudy.
Found suppliers who could meet specifications and budget. Three suppliers could
deliver in 180 days and the fourth supplier who was able to deliver the in 90 da
ys.
RESULT: Justified sole-source purchase. The hardware and software was procured f
rom the fourth supplier. Assembled, bench-tested, shipped, and installed on the
Aircraft; Developed and conducted the end-to-end testing procedure; Created Soft
ware Configuration Management Program. The system was delivered in one year savi
ng an estimated $350,000.
SITUATION: Inaccurate inventory and control of program Government Property (GP)
caused audit errors and Numerous Man-hours to locate and determine the status of
GP line items. Labor cost typically exceeded $2500 per line item to locate and
determine its status. GP tracking problems and availability were adversely affec
ting program schedule
SOLUTION: Implemented a program wide GP inventory database with 24/7 access avai
lable to all property custodians .Trained custodians on GP data input and tracki
ng metrics.
RESULT: The GP Inventory tracking system saved an average of $60,000 per year in
labor costs.
UNPLANNED WORK: Aircraft power-monitoring data was not valid. Acquired data was
critical to aircraft power loading assessment.
SOLUTION: Redesign of the aircraft Power Data acquisition system scheme
RISK: This modification had to be completed within ninety 90 days
ACTION: Selected and procured improved current, voltage sensors, cables, and con
nectors; Organized, and facilitated a team of six experienced technicians and th
ree support engineers to complete the work on schedule; Submitted, Justified, an
d Managed Software and Hardware Configuration Management Change Requests
RESULT: All modification tasks complete in 95 days. Fortunately, this did not ha
ve a negative affect the program Integrated Master Schedule because other aircra
ft systems schedules had caused a slip of six days.
