Additional Information on Acumen’s Fringe Benefit Plan

Paid Leave
Paid leave can be taken any time after the employee’s first day of employment, whenever work
schedules permit. Employees who have accrued unused paid leave may use it for paid sick leave,
paid vacation leave, or paid personal time off. Regular full-time employees accrue paid leave in
accordance with the following policy:

3-10 years 6.15 hours 4 weeks
11+ years 7.69 hours 5 weeks

All accrued but unused paid leave will be cashed out upon separation from employment.

Holidays
Regular staff employees are eligible for eight designated paid holidays starting with the first day of
employment. In addition, all regular staff employees accrue two personal floating holidays each
year. The first personal holiday is accrued on January 1; the second personal holiday is accrued July
1. Personal holidays must be used within the calendar year in which they are accrued and may not
be carried over to the next year.

Cafeteria Plan
Each regular staff employee is eligible to participate in the Cafeteria Plan. The monthly employer
contribution is $400 for full time employees (pro rated for part-time employees). Funds in your
cafeteria plan can be used for health insurance, dental insurance, vison insurance, flexible spending
accounts, or taken out as salary. Health insurance options include HMOs, PPOs, and Health Saving
Accounts (HSAs).

Retirement Benefits
Our retirement plan incorporates a flexible 401k program through Fidelity Investments. You can
choose to make elective pre-tax contributions to the 401k program if you wish (up to the federal
annual cap on contributions), beginning with the first month of employment. Additionally, after one
year of employment, Acumen will make a direct 5% contribution of your per pay period salary with
each pay check. There is a vesting schedule for employer contributions.

Part-Time Employees
Part-time salaried employees accrue all benefits (paid leave, holiday, cafeteria contributions) on a
pro-rated basis. Temporary and hourly employees do not accrue any fringe benefits.

Additional Information on Acumen’s Mandatory Background Check Policy

Due to the sensitive nature of much of our work, all Acumen employees must undergo a background
check. Background check forms are attached to this letter. If you decide to accept this offer of
employment, you must return you completed background check forms to Vicky Wheeler
(vwheeler@acumenllc.com) at least one week before your scheduled start date.

If you accept our offer, the actual date upon which you may start work will be contingent upon your
completing, and Acumen reviewing to its satisfaction, your mandatory background check.

Employees who work with particularly sensitive information may be asked to undergo an additional
background check after starting work.
