LED function
The following table provides information on the operation of the
display single point leds.

LED Function
This green LED is activated when the controller is
in RUN mode. For a system with a speed pickup,
this is LED is active when the controller has speed
feedback. For systems without speed feedback, the
LED is activated by the drive enable signal.
This Red LED is active when the controller is in
STOP mode. For a system with a speed pickup,
this LED is active when the controller has no speed
feedback.
Note:
These LEDs can also be used as a power on
indicator. When the STOP Led is On and the RUN
is flashing, it means that the feeder is ready to run
and that only the “RUN” button needs to be
pressed. If the lights are not flashing alternatively,
and the Stop led alone is on, the machine may be
missing a key variable or has an interlock set that
would prevent the machine from running if the
“RUN” key was pressed.
This Red LED is used to indicate a controller alarm
) is present. When the alarm is first detected, the
alarm LED will light. When the alarm timer
expires, the alarm LED will flash to indicate alarm
timeout. With this, the status line will also blink.
This Yellow LED will be active when the controller
is operating in the Local setpoint control mode.
This mode indicates that the setpoint is entered via
the keypad in the selected engineering units. This
led is not lit for other Control modes, i.e. Ratio,
Direct, Line 1-8.

Intro
This section demonstrates how alarms are handled by the display.

Alarm handling concepts

The following graphic is designed to show what happens in an alarm
sequence. Note that first an alarm condition must be present and is
indicated by an illuminated ALARM Led. Once the Alarm Delay Timer
expires the ALARM Led begins to blink and the Alarm Relay drops out
setting your external alarm enunciator. If you are in the Feeder
Overview Screen the display line 1 begins to alternate between normal
and a blank line. Pressing the ALARM Key acknowledges the alarm.
Pressing the ALARM key a second time, clears the alarm. If you in a
Menu or special function ( Alarm screen, Totalizer screen or New SP
screen ) the display does not change. The only visual indication of an
Alarm is the Alarm LED.

Programming Security Measures

Intro
This section shows how to set program security measures with the KSU.

Security levels

There are three levels of security that can be set on the KSU display
unit. This is in the Security Lev Sub-Menu in the System Main Menu.
These are, in the order of access:

Operator – "Oper”
Manager – “Mgr”
Maintenance – “Main”

To make alterations to the values of the security permissive in the

System menu, a switch, connected to the security input (rear of KSU)
must be closed. When opened, the Security menu is not changeable. See
document 6020 for details on this hardware connection.

Procedure to program the security level

Step Action
1 Open the System menu and Security Lev Sub-Menu.
2 Select the desired protection: Oper, or Mgr, or Maint in the
Security Level Variable and press “Enter”.

See the check note in step #3 if the value cannot be changed.

3 To lock the Security menu, a bit input to the KSU must be
set to prevent change.

If this bit is locked, no alteration to the Security

permissive is permitted.
