Chapter 3 PT-60 Series Disassembly

In order to facilitate capabilities of service personnel to replace certain parts or modules on PT-60 series, this chapter is providing assembly drawings of PT-60 series with related mechanical plus electrical connection details to serve this purpose.

For spare parts P/N and descriptions, please refer to Chapter 5 for more details.

3.1 Disassembly PT-60

Disassembling Main Unit of PT-60 Picture Step Step-1> Remove the battery cover and battery pack and loose 6 screws from the back of PT-60.

Step-2> Pull out the top cover of PT-60 slowly to avoid damaging the Keypad FPC cable.

Step-3> Release the keypad FPC cable from J7 and LCD cable from J3 as shown in the picture at the left.

Picture Step-4>

Step Taking out another 4 screws from

PCB tied down on the bottom cover.

Step-5> Release CCD module FPC cable from SJ1 and vibrating motor cable from SCN1.

*Note: When Wifi antenna cable is plugged/unplugged from its connector, please take caution not to be overlapped with anything on Bluetooth antenna connector to avoid side effect on the antenna function.

Step-6: Pull out the PCBA from PT-60 bottom cover slowly and also remove the I/O pin board from J9.

*Note: Please be cautious on the orientation of I/O pin board when inserting, PCB side with 3-holes must be facing upward (PCBA top side) and the other side with 4-holes must be facing downward (PCBA bottom side) as shown in the picture below.

Disassembling Scan Module of PT-60

Step Step-7: Remove 4 screws to release key lock and CCD module.

*Note: It is not necessary to remove the screw of the top side of vibrating motor cover.

SStep-8> Pull out vibrating motor and key lock from the case.

Step-9> Loose 3 screws on the back of scan module and scanning board can be taken out independently as shown in the picture.

*Note: Be aware of the orientation of vibrating motor when pushing it back into its slot. You should be able to fit it in properly if matching the orientation of can match the direction of the motor rubber. Key lock assembly of PT-60 has a magnetic coil as shown in the picture whereas no magnetic coil is used in the key lock assembly of PT-20. PT-60 scan module has a speaker whereas there is no speaker in PT-20 scan module. PT-20 uses buzzer on main board to give audio messages.
