As part of this review, the secretariat has prepared a brief questionnaire, which is distributed with todays Daily Programme, to gather the views of the readers of the documents. We believe that these insights will be extremely valuable in understanding how these documents could be improved and would be grateful if as many delegates as possible could complete the questionnaire and return it to the Documents Distribution counter. Please be assured that all responses will be kept confidential. We are hosting a discussion on how to improve the website experience and how to serve your information needs better. This project is made possible through government support from Norway. Accessing Information on Climate Finance: Tools for country action and policy development The UNFCCC secretariat will launch the first version of the Finance Portal for Climate Change, which includes two modules (i) nation al communications (ii) fast-start finance. The World Bank and UNDP will present the Climate Finance Options Platform. Implementing the results of technology needs assessments Technology needs assessments (TNAs) are a set of country-driven activities that identify and determine the mitigation and adaptation technology priorities of NAI Parties. This side event will provide an overview of the actual status of TNAs, their implementation potential and their possible linkages with other planning tools under the Convention. - 16 Promoting civil society participation in climate governance: The Adaptation Fund and other examples Civil society has an important role to play in ensuring integrity and justice in climate governance. The event hosted by Germanwatch, the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and TI examines opportunities and challenges to enhancing participation in climate impacted countries through examples such as the Adaptation Fund NGO Network. Bioenergy and LULUCF CAN examines whether bioenergy can deliver for the climate in the light of current LULUCF rules. Just Transition in Least Developed Countries - Resilient development and vulnerability reduction Cancun Agreements adopted a commitment to Just Transition (JT) and Decent Work. Research identifies different actions required to make a JT happen in LDC. With theoretical underpinnings and concrete examples, it shows JT can lead to resilient development, improved wellbeing and social justice. Experiences and lessons learned in elaborating Low-emission development strategies UNDP supporting EE and CIS transition to low-emission development. - 17 Financing Gender sensitive adaptation in developing countries: Problems and Prospects Although womens vulnerability is recognized, there is little understanding of specific criteria for gender-sensitive adaptation, particularly regarding financing. The event will draw lessons from case studies and frame a set of recommendations for decision making processes on adaptation finance. Arctic Council SWIPA Report and UNEPs Integrated Assessment on Black Carbon and Ozone Presentations of a new comprehensive report from the Arctic Council on acceleration of changes to ice and permafrost, together with the official release of UNEPs Integrated Assessment of Black Carbon and Ozone showing a path to staying under two degrees. China Low Carbon Development This event will discuss China low carbon development issues and impacts, including industry, foreign trade and energy system, technology and pilot demonstration. An ecosystems approach to implementing REDD+ The Ecosystems Climate Alliance presents a panel discussion on an ecosystems approach to REDD+, including implementation of the environmental, social and governance safeguards. Speakers will discuss the biodiversity safeguard, peatlands and civil society's role in monitoring. Adaptation and African Pastoralism: Knowledge Systems, Meteorology and Policy Making UNESCO and IPACC present a panel on adaptation, traditional knowledge, meteorology and policy making. Climate adaptation works on different scales and requires an interface of different systems of knowledge. African pastoralists, meteorologists and policy makers create synergies between their perspectives.
