Bangalore International Airport has started the construction work of expansion of its Terminal 1. The enhanced terminal is aimed at improving passenger experience, making access to seating, amenities and commercial facilities easier and better.The design of the expanded terminal is set to sport a modern design elevation and will be completed in approximately 18 months from this date. Tata Motors and Japan-based New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) today inaugurated an environment-friendly dual-fuel based power generation facility at the Tata Motors Pune facility. The aim of the project is to produce power through clean environment technology.Tata Motors and NEDO jointly worked on the project for two years. Two 2.5-MW diesel electric power generators sets were identified for conversion into dual-fuel generators, using natural gas as the main fuel and diesel as the pilot fuel. The project has become successful for operating diesel generator sets on natural gas and light diesel oil. S&T Motors, South Korea is likely to set up a joint venture in India in the next couple of years for manufacturing superbikes.

The company has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). As of June 2011, European firm, Martifer Solar, a subsidiary of Martifer SGPS has been retained as the solar EPC contractor. The project is expected to be completed in December 2011. Email: contact@inspirainfra.com NTPC to set up 1000 MW Power Plant in Nagpur Sector : Energy | Sub Sector : Thermal-Coal Fired | Current Status : Under Implementation National Thermal Power Corporation is setting up a 1000 MW coal fired thermal power plant in the first phase at at Mouda near Nagpur. The project involves an investment of Rs.57,000 million. The Boiler hydro test for its first 500MW unit was done in April 2011. As of June 2011, necessary land acquisition has been done and the project is under implementation. The first unit with a capacity of 500 MW is expected to be completed in March 2012 while the second unit of similar size will start generating power in September 2012. On completion, NTPC will take up the second phase of capacity 1,320 MW (660 MW x 2 ). Fax: 07115- 281223 MMTC to Expand Wind Power Generation Capacity from 15 MW to 50 MW Sector : Energy | Subsector : Wind Energy | Current Status : Feasibility Study Underway MMTC, which is is operating a 15 MW Wind Farm in Karnataka is planning to expand the capacity to 50 MW. The project involves adding another 40 machines each with an augmented capacity of 1,200 kV at its existing wind farm. The project is estimated to cost Rs.2500 million. As of June 2011, the company has already initiated a feasibility study for the expansion plan, which would be ready by the end of this year. The company intends to complete the expansion programme in 3 years from the date of commencement of project work. KKR Construction Bags Highway Construction Contract from MPRDC Awarded to : KKR Construction | Awarded to : Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation | Category : Construction Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation has awarded the construction contract to KKR Construction for the development of the Pichhore - Chanderi - Mungawali - Onder - Kurwai Road in the State of Madhya Pradesh. The contract is valued at Rs.1458.9 million. The work is to be completed within 24 months.
