Who Me?
My name is Eric and I reside in Singapore. I am ploud (proud) to be a Singlishspeaking Singaporean! I thank God that His Mighty Hand is on this tiny nation I call home. May God bless my Prime Minister and his family. I don't know why. But whenever I see my Prime Minister on TV or the papers, I feel so much for him. PM Lee, if you are reading this, I just want to say I love you! And I am straight! Straight as straight can ever be! I am no pastor or any of the five fold ministries. I am a beloved child of God getting to know Him. I am just want to put in writing who and what Jesus means to me . It may not agree with your own experience. But since when is that necessary? I have always been convinced that God's Word plays out differently in the life of every individual. No two persons are ever going to have the exact same experiences. Sometimes, I wonder what the centurion and the woman with the issue of blood would say to each other about Jesus should they meet. The centurion believed that Jesus' Word alone is POWER! The women with the issue of blood believed that just by touching the hem of Jesus' garments is POWER! Both their experiences are valid. I just cannot imagine the two of them arguing about how Jesus's healing virtue if they insist their individual experience is THE only way Jesus works. So much for my one cent worth.

Short but Packed

Jesus wept (John 11:35). The shortest verse in the Bible. Yet when I think on that verse, it showed me so much about Abba, Jesus and the blessed Holy Spirit. I must confess that the blessed Holy Spirit was out of the radar when I thought on the verse. But somehow, I know the Holy Trinity, The Triune God, works as a corporate whole.

Corporate Holy
Jesus Himself said that when we see Him, we see the Father (John 14:9). And we know that Jesus did all His works by the power of the blessed Holy Spirit. Therefore, Jesus is the walking Corporate Holy ! All in One and One in ALL!

Cry For What?

The first question that came to mind was this: Why did Jesus cry? How many times in the Bible was it recorded that He cried? And what made Him cry? In this instance, the story began in John Chapter 11. A certain man named Lazarus was very ill. He was the brother of Mary and Martha. In John 11:33 , it was recorded that when Jesus saw Mary sobbing, and the Jews who came came with her also sobbing, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled (Father, Son and Spirit). He chafed or fret in spirit and sighed and was disturbed. Mary cried because her brother has been dead for four days. [John 11:39] Then in John 11:35, Jesus wept. Did Jesus cry because Lazarus has been dead for four days? Jesus knew He was going to raise Lazarus from death. So why did He cry?

Jesus Feels Me
I believe He cried because He felt what Mary felt. In western expression, He feels her. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Today, He still understands what and how I feel. Jesus did not negate Mary's emotions although He knew her sorrows would very soon turn to joy. Jesus did not rebuke Mary for not having faith in Him. No! My Brother Jesus cried with her. Jesus did not say: Oh you silly women! You see me no up, is it? That means are you belittling me in Singapore colloqualism. Wait a minute! Did I just call Jesus my Brother? Scripture please! Gladly! Trying to imitate my pastor here! Sorry Pastor! After Jesus was resurrected from death, He said in Matthew 28:10 : Then Jesus said to them, Do not be alarmed and afraid; go and tell My brethren [My brothers] to go into Galilee, and there they will see Me. Jesus addressed His disciples as brothers. And that would include you and I, the disciple whom Jesus loves deep deep! That means very much' in Singapore colloqualism.

God's Heart: Jesus

God is love. And Jesus is the very essence of His love. So when God sent Jesus to planet earth from a far away galaxy (sounds familiar? got this from my Pastor too) , God in effect took out His heart to show me. Perhaps this is why men likes to use this phrase to express his love for the opposite sex: Do you want me to show you my heart? And yet God knew that His precious heart would be torn into pieces by the very object of His love.

Spiritual Death
I believe the record of Lazarus being dead for four days speaks of mankind being dead for 4,000 years and was resurrected by the coming of Jesus. Bible says that a day is like a thousand years to God (2 Peter 3:8). Just a thought.

Is this Love?
Jesus seemed to tarry when He heard that Lazarus was ill. In John 11:5-6, it was recorded as such: Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. [They were His dear friends, and He held them in loving esteem]. Therefore [even] when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He still stayed two days longer in the same place where He was.

What?!? You call this love? His dear friend whom He held in loving esteem was dying and He did not rush to save him? Oh common'! You must be kiddin' me!
I believe that insofar as Jesus was concerned, Lazarus will be resurrected. It was already a done deal! This is recorded in John 11:4: When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death; but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it. His thoughts are not my thoughts and my ways are not His ways (Isaiah 55:8). But so long as I know His heart is for me, I'm cool.

Poem
Why give me flowers when it's just for show? When I'm happy or sad, you do not know! Though we share the same bed but your heart is dead! I'm glad I have Jesus as my loving mate! Now where did that come from?!? Beats me man! It just came and so I put it down lor! By the way, I am ploud to be a Singlish speaking Singaporean!

Faith
The Isarelites entered the Red Sea by faith (Hebrews 11:29). That means they enterd it before the sea parted. Joshua and company crossed the Jordan River when it was flooding with rushing water which was quickly rising (Joshua 3:15). Abraham almost plung the knife into the heart of his beloved son (Genesis 22:10-14). All these are very threatening circumstances. In the case of Lazarus, it was not threatening, it was a case forgone! Dead! How much worst can a situation be?

God of the Living

Yet, God promised in the New Covenant that He will be my God and I will be His people (Hebrews 8:10). And Jesus said that Abba is the God of the Living (Matthew 22:32). That would mean this: since Abba is my God, I shall not die because He is the God of the Living. And that includes every aspect of my life. Even when situations state beyond a shadow of a doubt that death has come, REMEMBER LAZARUS! The thought of Jesus saying Remember Lot's wife came to me as I was tying this sentence. Thank You Jesus! And Yes! REMEMBER LAZARUS! When situations hit rock bottom, completely dead, I am reminded by the blessed Holy Spirit that Abba is the God of the living. He will resurrect whatever is or are dead in my life! Situations are factual. Christians don't deny facts. Rather, we accept facts but believe in the Truth. And the Truth prevails. And God's Word is the Truth (John 17:17) and the Truth has set me FREEEEEE! Yeeha! The number 17 means victory. Where did I get this idea from? My pastor and also the following sources: 1. http://www.biblewheel.com/gr/gr_17.asp 2. http://www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/meaning-of-numbers-in-bible/17.html 3. http://www.agapebiblestudy.com/documents/The%20Significance%20of%20Numbers 4. 5. 6. 7.

Hence God's Word is Truth and is victory!

Double confirmed! Because it appears as John 17:17. Double 17! And in John, the Gospel of Love, somemore. Love = Truth = Victory!
Am I feeling estactic about it? Honestly...No. But I am slowly learning to wean from judging God and His Word by feelings or emotions. I still feel down but like the case of Lazarus, Jesus will always come through whatever my emotions may be! That is my bother Jesus! REMEMBER LAZARUS! What? You are judging God?!? You want to die ah? !? Relax lah. Just an expression only what. And by the way, I died! Happy?

Lesson From Abraham

The account in Genesis 22 showed me two things: 1. Abraham knew that God will provide the sacrifice and that Isaac will not die. 2. Abraham call God by what He meant or has done for him. And every time God did something for Abraham, he will erect an altar in remembrance. I think the erecting altars is an act of gratitude.

Gospel in the Star

It has been said that God showed Abraham the Gospel in the Stars. There is a belief that the Gospel in the Star was first shown to Enoch, who walked with God and was raptured. Hey, that dude didn't die man! And Job seemes to have been looking at the stars as suggested in Job 38:3-32. Job yearned for an Intercessor. Could He have seen the Intercessor, mine today in Christ Jesus, from the stars? I heard there have been much controversy over this Gospel in the Star thingy.

Somehow, when I recall God saying in the Bible that the stars are signs and tokens of His provident care (Genesis 1:14), I somewhat feel the Gospel is indeed in the stars.

Can you not twist God's Word? He said light not stars in Genesis 1:14!!! And what separates night from day are the sun and the moon! Genesis 1:14
And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens [of God's provident care], and [to mark] seasons, days, and years, By the way, light is meorah in Hebrew [Strong's 3974] which means luminary or a luminous body. And from what I understand, sun and moon are also stars! Think with me. God created all things. Then why would He singled out only the stars as the signs and tokens of His provident care? Why not the oceans, the mountains, the trees, the flowers; you know, things that we will normally look at? I don't know about you but I for one have never been interested in looking at the stars! The only time I do see them was when I concuss (concussion)!

Adios
Anyway, will be writing about this another time. Need to fetch my wife from the MRT!
