Angels in America Pt. 1 Auditions June 12th

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Actors Company of Tulsa is proud to present Angels in America, Part 1: The Millennium Approaches, written by Tony Kushner and directed by Sean Stewart. Auditions will be held this Sunday, June 12th at 3 pm at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center at 4th and Kenosha in Downtown Tulsa with callbacks the next day and the show will run September 8th through 11th. Angels in America is a two-part epic play set during the beginnings of the AIDS epidemic in New York. As the characters struggle to define who they are and redefine their beliefs to deal with this horrible affliction, an Angel comes to Prior Walter, a recent victim of AIDS, in a dream and reveals to him that he is to be a prophet for the new Millennium. Ultimately, its message of hope and of equality and respect for all peoples resonates with anyone who witnesses this play. We hope to share the message and its passion with all of Tulsa. The University of Tulsa Theatre Department will produce the second part, Perestroika, directed by Lisa Wilson in October. Actors Company of Tulsa is a 501 (c) (3) organization currently sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa.
