Let Us Pray the Mass : Our Liturgy newsletter this week turns its attention to the Liturgy of the Word and its place both in our liturgy and in our lives. The word of the Lord is alive and active, says St Paul, and is to be taken to heart in such a way that it transforms our way of living. This means that, first and foremost. we must be attentive to what God is trying to say to us as his word is proclaimed. Sacraments of Initiation : Next week sees the formal launch of the new Diocesan programme for the Sacraments of Initiation Family Catechesis. An important element in this is a new resource for preparing parents for the Baptism of their children. I mentioned some time ago the need to create a group of parishioners to accompany and encourage parents at this time, and I hope to have a meeting in the next couple of weeks to set this in motion.
