This information is held in a central repository referred to as the Product Reference Database Item Master is one of the applications in Core Systems. It is a collection of programs that enable the population and maintenance of the Item Master database. Item Master database is a reference data repository of Item descriptions and their characteristic values. The contents of this database are utilized by virtually all AC-Nielsen delivery systems. Store Reference System is a subset of the Store Universe and is designed for the internal use of ACNielsen. It supports the process of lining up retail stores for ACNielsen sample. Store Reference repository consists of, set of all stores where ACNielsen either collects or desires to collect movement data. The Store Reference System is categorized under Core Systems, which consists of both batch and online process.
