Here We Build Announces Committee Members and First Public Meeting Membership Reflects Commitment to Regionalism and Public

Engagement SACRAMENTO, CA Today Here We Build released a list of committee members and announced the date of its first public meeting. Here We Build is a regional initiative launched by Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson on May 31st to facilitate construction of a new entertainment and sports complex (ESC) that promotes job creation, economic growth, cultural development and civic pride across the greater Sacramento metropolitan area. The Mayor charged the committee to spend 100 days to gather public input and report back with a menu of funding options for a new downtown entertainment and sports complex. Here We Build is comprised of a broad, bipartisan, and diverse group of seventy leaders from the Sacramento region. The group is structured as follows: a 15-member Executive Committee led by Executive Director Chris Lehane comprised of public and private leaders from the city, county, region, and state responsible for making final recommendations 55 additional business, labor, political and civic leaders who will provide input and counsel In addition, Here We Build announced the date of its first public meeting: Thursday, June 16 from 11:00am 12:00pm at the East Meeting Room of Sacramento Central Library (828 I Street). The focus of the meeting will be a review of public-private partnership models used by other US cities to finance new entertainment and sports complexes.
