First-Year (Domestic) Applicants
1. Application for Admission Submit your complete application by paper or online. IIT accepts the
Common Application and the Universal Application, and considers each equally. After you have written
your essay, send it along with any supplemental information.
2. Counselor/Teacher Evaluation or Letter of Recommendation These forms are included as part of
the Common Application and the Universal Application. Give them to a counselor and/or teacher who
knows you well and can write about your strengths as a student.
3. Secondary School Transcripts Ask your secondary school counselor to submit your official secondary
school transcripts to the admission office.
4. Test Scores Have official SAT I or ACT scores (with writing) sent to the admission office. IIT's SAT code
is 1318; the ACT code is 1040.
5. Financial Aid You will automatically be evaluated for merit-based scholarships upon admission to the
university. If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and would like to apply for federal aid, please
submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online after January 1 at fafsa.ed.gov. Our
FAFSA code is 001691. For details on how to apply and the types of financial aid available, please refer

Admission to Kettering University is a selective process based on traditional academic criteria. Our admission
process is a personal one. We are interested in learning about your interests, talents and career goals!
ALL applicants to Kettering University should have pursued a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and achieved
high scholastic standing especially in the areas of science, math and English.
Required Coursework*
2 years of Algebra
1 year of Geometry
1 semester of Trigonometry (except for the BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)
2 years of Lab Science (one must be Physics or Chemistry for all degree programs except the BBA (Bachelor of
Business Administration), which requires 2 years of Science)
3 years of English
Calculus or Pre-Calculus recommended (if available)
AP and IB coursework is also accepted
*All applicants are encouraged to complete English, science and math courses beyond these minimum requirements.
College Entrance Exams
Applicants for freshman admission are required to submit official test scores from either ACT or SAT. Scores should
be sent to Kettering University from the testing agency.

Beyond these minimum requirements, Kettering does not have a fixed formula for determining who to accept for
admission. However, a strong record of achievement is expected. A separate GPA will be calculated for Math,
Science and English coursework for all students. GPA (including 9th Grade): 3.0 or better

FRESHMAN APPLICANTS
The initial phase in the admission process is an evaluation by Kettering of the candidate's application. Primary
consideration is given to the applicant's high school academic record and scores on college entrance examinations.
Secondary consideration is given to the student's class standing, employment history, extracurricular honors and
activities and other evidence of ability, interest and motivation.

FOR APPLICANTS USING THE ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS:
The online GPPA application process has three parts the UIC Undergraduate application, the
GPPA Supplemental application, and the download and submission of all additional materials needed.
Please follow the steps carefully.
STEPS:
1. Complete and submit your online UIC Undergraduate Freshman application at the following
link: http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/undergrad/apply_undergrad.html
2. Please check the Application Status Page to insure that your Undergraduate application is in
process before proceeding to the GPPA Supplemental Application process. (Note that it is best to wait 24
48 hours before submitting the GPPA Supplemental Application.)
3. Read all of the GPPA FAQ, GPPA Information, and online application directions at the
following link:http://www.uic.edu/depts/oar/undergrad_gppa/apply_online_gppa.html
4. Complete the online GPPA Supplemental Application. PLEASE NOTE: The GPPA
Supplemental Application serves as both an application to the GPPA program and to the Honors
College. (For those programs for which the Honors College is optional you are asked to check a box
indicating your interest in the Honors College.)
5. Once submitted, print out the Application Signature Page and complete the steps noted there.
6. Download forms to request the following additional materials required:

Letters of Recommendation (Three are required.)
7. Request official transcripts and letters of recommendation to be returned to you to be sent
altogether to our Special Projects Unit. The letters of recommendation should be signed across the seal,
and the high school transcripts will be considered official with the school stamp or registrars signature
across the seal.
8. Pay the application fee of $50 made payable to the University of Illinois at Chicago for your
UIC Undergraduate Application. There is no additional fee for the GPPA Supplemental Application.
9. Submit the Application Signature Page and all additional materials requested above to:

10. Insure that you have sent ACT/SAT Test Scores to UIC. (Your application will be considered
incomplete until UIC receives your test scores.)

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
y Complete the Common Application and the University of Chicago Supplement. Both may be completed
online on the Common Application's website.
y The University of Chicago Supplement (available on the Common Application website) requires one
extended essay of your choice from our list of five, and one short essay on why you would like to attend
the University of Chicago. An essay on your favorite art or media is optional.

Apply for Admission
The following steps are required for full-time traditional students to complete the application process:
1. Complete a freshman application - it's FREE online
or complete a universal college application.
2. Submit your official high school transcripts.
3. Submit your ACT or SAT scores. We do not require both tests. When you register to take the test,
you can request to have the scores sent directly to MSOE. MSOE's code for ACT is 4616 and SAT is
1476. We currently do not require the writing portion of either test.

MSOE does not have any deadlines for application, as we are on a rolling admission. An admissions decision
will be made within one to two weeks of receiving all information. We will also review your file for merit
based scholarships, based on your cumulative GPA and composite standardized test score. Once admission
and scholarship decisions are made you will be notified.

Admissions Requirements
At Grand Valley, we are looking for students who are prepared to meet the challenges of a rigorous university
curriculum.
An admissions counselor carefully reviews each application and considers academic and other various criteria.
Applicants will be reviewed using a combination of:
y High school courses completed
y Cumulative grade point average
y Standardized test scores
y Grade point trend
y Rank in class
y Other factors provided by the applicant
A single deficiency in an academic area will not necessarily mean a student is refused admission. However, students
who are missing a number of courses are at a disadvantage.
Subject criteria in high school should include:
y Four years of English, including composition
y Three years of science, including two years of laboratory science
y Three years of college preparatory mathematics
y Three years of social science
y Two years of a single foreign language
