What are the policies that Star Health offers?

STAR Accident Care


As the name suggests, this policy covers hospitalization and other medical requirements in case of an accident. It is available to everyone of legal driving age, from 18 to 70, anywhere in the world. Prospects are classified under various risk covers, depending on their occupation and monthly income.

STAR Accident Trauma Care


This accident policy is not restricted to road accidents alone. The person is covered for all kinds of accidents as well as subsequent hospitalization. The policy is available to everyone within India of legal driving age from 18 to 70.

STAR Medi Premier Insurance


Aimed specifically at major illnesses, this policy provides 50% of the insured amount upfront in case of diagnosis of stroke, renal failure and cancer. The insured amount is also given in full for medical expenses, providing the insured person has high chances of survival.

STAR Medi Classic Insurance


It covers a whole range of illnesses and hospitalization expenses for individuals as well as families. The age groups covered start from 5 months and go up to 80 years.

Star True Value Insurance


This health insurance policy caters to low-end insurers allowing limits ranging from Rs.30,000 to Rs.80,000. While insuring a whole family, discounts starting from 10% are offered on the premium depending on the number of persons covered. It is available to both individuals as well as families.

STAR Family Health Optima Insurance


Star Healths Family Health Optima plan brings the whole family under one insurance plan. It covers hospitalization charges, fee for medical professionals, diagnostic expenses, cost of medicine, drugs and emergency ambulance charges. It is available for people in the age group of 5 months to 60 years, residing in India.

Star Health All Care Insurance


Designed specifically for NRIs, this policy insures the NRIs family (spouse, children and parents) for unforeseen medical emergency during their stay in India at all the Star designated hospitals. The policy covers consultation, hospitalization expenses, surgery, nursing, diagnostic expenses, cost of medicines, etc and is available to anyone who is 5 years and above.

STAR Travel Protect


This policy offers cover for a host of risks while traveling. We provide a travel protect plan that covers hospitalization in case of accidents/sickness, third party liability, loss of checked in baggage, passport, etc. in any of the countries the person travels to for a predefined limit.

STAR Student Care Insurance


This policy has been designed to take care of students' emergent needs. It provides compensation / hospitalization expenses in case of an accident leading to death or permanent disability. Educational grants are also provided to insured students in case of death/complete disability of the earning parent. Students between the ages of 3 and 18 are covered under this policy.

STAR Micro Health Insurance


This is an initiative to cover the economically disadvantaged sections of society in rural areas. For a very small yearly premium, we provide the means for quality health care to a wide section of people who cannot, under normal circumstances, afford it. The policy is available for people between 5 and 50 years of age.

Our re-insurance arrangements


Star Health is adequately re-insured with GIC of India, Indias national re-insurer. Star Health is the only company in India that has re-insurance coverage for its health portfolio with a Stop Loss' provision. Other portfolios like Personal Accident & Overseas Travel Policy are also adequately re-insured with GIC. Our re-insurance philosophy is simple - "to ensure that the bottom line of Star Health is protected while taking care of the interest of the insuring public".
