PESTEL ANALYSIS

TECHNOLOGICAL ST 0008539 LONDON SAM

The aim of PESTLE analysis in the organization s to examine or forecasting factors such as political, Economic, Social, Technology, Environment, and Legal, how they might be effect on English premier league in future. This analysis is not looking only inside the company but also looking external environment of industry. POLITICAL: Political factor includes Government stability, taxation policy, and foreign trade regulations etc. Recently in U.K, changes in government, Conservatives have refused Labours proposals to give fans a 25 % stack in club as a pre-election gimmick. To give stacks to fans in league because supporters are not usually in main decision making board, the fact is that companies controlling clubs have complex structure. Political decision can impact on many areas for industry such as the education, quality of infrastructure such as playground, facilities at the time of match. Within the organisation, these are the political issues may involve. A change of chief executive or chair person A change of Ownership or sponsorship Power struggle between the industries.

ECONOMIC Economic factors are concerned with financial inside or outside of the English premier league, which affects the all over an industry. Examples of economic factors are such as a change in Interest rate, Inflation, unemployment, disposable income, money supply. Barclays enable to broaden their focus on certain responsibility to prove that they play a good role in getting economic advantages in country where they operate.A potential of Premier league to create an employment and promoting tourism. SOCIAL The English premier league focuses in its objective to improve the value of the business and their stockholder. Social trends, attitudes, and behaviours are influenced by drivers with education, health, changes in work patterns some of the more key influences of premier league. These are a social factors may impact on premier league population- lifestyle change-level of education-social mobility. Premier league also administered new work based learning contracts to aspire students to enter a career in professional sport.(The football scholarship/ 16/05/2011) TECHNOLOGICAL Technology drivers reacting certain markets but, although their impact is clear within some elements of the premier league industry. EPL must have to applying technology to record the profile of their fans so it can develop relationship with their club and its fane base. By using technology EPL can know their customer need and it can know that when to offer new equipment or training to get new player. It can also use technology to record database of local players and suggest that player to clubs owner or sponsor. Because of technology EPL can broadcast live premiership match on internationally and earn more money and can get good brand. Sky is live matches broadcasting partner of the premier league.(Broadcasting, 16/05/2011)

ENVIRONMENT Environment is also a key factor for premier league, such as changes in weather causes the match. When premier league organised their matches in other country, they should look the basic facilities of country such as water, energy and food. This factor can be impact because fans go there to watch the matches and if they find difficulties to find out their basic need they will not be happy and feel that they are looking after their needs. LEGAL Legal includes competition law, health and safety law, employment law, product law. When premier league sponsors buy the player these are the factor concern with them , how long they can play with club, is there any safety or security provide by club or not?, How much they get paid?, what is allowances and what other facilities will be provide to their player. By doing PESTLE analysis and as per my knowledge and understanding these are the key driver point of PESTLE analysis. KEY POINT OF PREMIER LEAGUE PESTLE DRIVERS 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Government policy and regulation for stack holders Ex-change rate Interest rate Taxation policy Rules for home ground player Broadcasting of live matches

THREAT OF ENTRY As per my opinion the threat of entry is very low, because to enter or sponsor premier league is requirement for hugeinvestment that small firms are cannot do that. Because it is too much expensive and also there are too many legislation and political issues to promote it. At the positive point of view it is very attractive industry to give business reputation and brand. So at the international level there are so many companies is ready to sponsor the premier league. Of course powerful companies able to command huge financial resources can break in with accusation. SUPPLIER In EPL suppliers are football players who are the main factor that influences the existence Football club/ premier league. The also domestic club can supply the football player in to the premier league. So the suppliers are Domestic club players, international players, Football schools, and Countrys player. The most supplier issues in EPL come about professional player s in an attempt to increase their salaries and salary of cups of clubs. BUYER Buyers are limited In Barclays premier league there is a selected club who are the buyer of football player who give them a certain amount of money to play matches on behalf of their club. Bargaining power of buyer is very high because they have to pay a lot of money to buy players. Also fans or spectators are user of product which has made by or logo of football club or English premier league. SUBSTITUTE On the bases of premier league there is no substitute league but they can create another club as substitute. COMPETITORS RIVARLY These are the competitors of the Premier league FIFA CUP, UEFA CUP, EPLF as well. Rivalry is more ambiguous between clubs in the same league. For example it is unlikely that one club could able to steal other club supporter from another club. SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGH: English premier league is ahead of any other football league in Europe. As mentioned the business of football in England is very advanced. The financial background of English club is very wealthy. Higher possibilities in invest in new player. WEAKNESS: The investment in international and domestic player is the most aspect of football league. Usually the club and associations like to work together to invent in young English player to support the national team. Due to the awake of foreign investor they are looking at club or league profit not interested in the success of the national team. So the English young player has less chance to play. OPPORTUNITY: - They can broadcast their matches online because of technology. Premier league become famous on international level so it has great opportunity to attract foreign investor THREAT: Competition within the organisation. In premier league its only played between national team. Premier league itself runs own website and a global television service.
