**POPE BENEDICT XVIs 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION JUNE 29**

he Pope will celebrate his 60th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on June 29, the Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul. In honour of his anniversary, the clergy and the faithful have been invited to participate in Eucharistic Adoration with the intention of praying for the sanctification of the clergy and for the gift of new and holy priestly vocations. Our Diocese have asked parishes to plan special prayers before the Blessed Sacrament on or around June 29th. t. Francis Xavier has Holy Hour on the First Friday of every month. This Friday, July 1st, our Holy Hour presents and excellent opportunity to give thanks for our Holy Father, to pray for all priests, and to ask the Lord for more vocations to the priesthood. Please consider joining us for this very special Holy Hour.

A PRAYER FOR POPE BENEDICTS 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF PRIESTHOOD

Lord Jesus we come into your Eucharistic presence to thank you for the life and priestly vocation of Pope Benedict XVI. Bless him and his ministry as your Vicar and the Successor of St. Peter. Sanctify all your priests and configure them to Your Sacred and Priestly Heart. Give to your Church new and holy priests, who will imitate your divine love and shepherd your people with care. You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

Knowing that Jesus is so close to us in the Eucharist gives a focus to our lives that is both here and now and in the future; both tangible, appearing as bread and wine, and intangible this is no ordinary bread and wine but the flesh and blood of the Lord, the risen Lord. This is for us comfort, consolation, hope of eternal life, a constant call to be united with each other, a challenge to be worthy of his presence, an invitation to share with others the news that he is very close. The God who saved the chosen people in the dessert is still saving, through Jesus Christ his Son. The risen Lord who appeared to Saul and called him to be an apostle is making himself know to us in the sacrament of the Eucharist, and inviting us to go out in his name. As we ponder this great mystery, we can realize how life-transforming it can be, and how it can transform our world. This is a memory we hold, we share and we celebrate today, on this feast, and every time we gather around the altar in his name.

SERVERS FOR FUNERAL MASSES: Thank you to our weekday Mass Servers who have as well would offered their services for funerals. We would like to extend this ministry. If you could donate the your time and talent as a server for an occasional funeral please notify the Parish office. We will prepare for a training of new servers like yourself.
